If you had 4 million to spend on SEO what would you do?

If someone gave you 4 million to invest on your various websites - for SEO and such... How much would you spend it? Would you buy text links and try to get to the top or what?

 

Take the 4 mills and run? No idea.. i think with such a budget only for SEO it's hard to get a return of invement
if you can't convert the traffic into money, i.e. owning a top converting website like a retail store etc.. Personally i would:

1) Check if the given niche is worth the money, if not, find a better one
2) Invest into top keyword.com domains, based on 12-18 month type-in revenue
3) Buy quality backlinks, bannerspace and partnerships
4) Buy out a better web 2.0 startup or spend 100-500k into leading edge webservice development and web 2.0 design
5) Pay copy writers and marketers for content

Companies with just a budget normally just invest the money into advertising..

Its sounds like a very arbitrary question to ask.

 

If I have 4 million I would place it in the bank and live off the interest.

 

I will spend 60-70% in Content/Design/Programing
Remaining amount of SEO.

To do your SEO for you.. so you can spend the other $3M on important stuff like drugs and hookers..


But seriously even the biggest companies don't ever spend that much on SEO

a bit of a silly question. who here would waste $4million on SEO? Invest it in something else.

 

SEO is very important for an internet business, so the best way to use the money is to pay a good SEO or PPC Company in order to get positions to your website. That's what I would do with such a budget.

But why spend 4 mil on seo. Juts hire ppl to do seo work for you based on good references. No site can cost you more to establish and seo for than 200,000 imo. Only thing left after is advertising off the internet like, tv, etc.

 

I wouldn't buy SEO specific anything. First, I'd hire R'n'D to make my product better than yours, design a web site that makes you feel like you are missing something if you don't have my product, hire support folk that will make you feel like you are calling a friend, and then I'd hire a marketing company to make my site/product a household name. Then the SEO will take care of itself.

SEO isn't an end-game or all inclusive 'technique', it's a tool that should be only a part of any good business/marketing strategy.

if i had 4 milion i would spend advertising in huge companies

 

i would try to get on top of keywords

like

web hosting
loan

-will spend 10% only for domain name
-20% for degin and content (like build 5 to 2 sites on same niche to give main site strength)

 

I can say BS here..

Honestly I would just retire..
