Hello everybody, I faced very strange situation. My web site (i do not mention it here, sorry) is PR3 and age is more thean 1 year. Last week I got a link from the high quality related niche website with PR5. My site was in Top10 in google serps.
Now I could not find my web site in Top100. Hmm... I did not do any black seo. I'm just wondering if my website is under "some kind of google filter".. And do i have any chances to recover my positions? May be somebody has already have the same situation and can tell me advice. Thank you.

Hhmmm, i think what happened with your site is it was affected by the sudden changing of their algorithm or there was a Google Dance. Some sites who are having high ranks on the SE's suddenly disappears and the Sites from the bottom of the ranking boosts up, because they were affected on the flactuation. imho

Today i noticed that my positions of other sites jumped back...and on the first 3 places went very "young" websites. My domains established in 1998, now i see domains in front of me that are 2007 year. Very strange!

well actually google ranks young websites first for 1-2 weeks then pushes them to the sandbox. You have nothing to worry about,it's natural.Just work on your link building and make it look natural, you will be ok ;)

It passed more than one month. I collected some more links and nothing happened. My website is gone away to ~600 position. Think it is a other kind of google's filter i did not know about.

collecting or buying links non organically will always eventually get your in trouble with Google

focus on your business, and watch search traffic over larger windows of time (instead of daily/hourly for some)

This is something very normal practice these days (suddenly low ranking), no need to worry about ... Do all your work as you were doing earlier, your website will be back very soon on its position..

    All the best ....

I believe if you site is found when doing "site:domain.com" in google search then you have not been penalized for anything ...

My suggestion, when link building, is don't try to rank in top10 with very competitive keywords try to get good positions with lower competition keywords ... and in time you will do ok for the high competition phrases

    for example
if you want to get in the results for "keyword1 keyword2" but there is much competition on it try "keyword1 keyword2 keyword3" first ...

john chow has dropped to 43rd place for "make money online" but I don't consider that a penalty since most other people I used to see on first page are now on second or third page ie problogger.com doshdosh.com ... maybe the ones that rose to the top have actually had done a better job at link building ...

Anyway a penalty for me would mean that they fall into the deep abyss of the results beyond 1000 ...

maybe problogger, etc. are not penalized but their back links are filtered.
