I sold a guitar on ebay and it was given to me. I made some money. I also sold one of my websites on ebay.

I used to sell vitamin/herbal supplements - weight loss, bodybuilding etc. I did ok because of the volume of orders, but the profit margins werent great. Gave it up because it was too much hard work packaging and getting out all the orders every day

 

two words, drop shipping.

 

The trouble, of course, is that drop-shipping is an "easy way out", so many more people are going to go that route. Increased competition = decreased profits.

Good for you if you've been able to build a profitable drop-ship enterprise because it's a lot harder than it sounds. In a lot of cases the only ones that make money from a drop-ship arrangement are the drop-shippers.

It's too bad that so many people fall for the "make lots of money with an initial investment of nothing" hype. It makes life so much easier for the drop-ship scammers and useless-template-package-sellers.

 

There are millions of people selling things if what you are selling has no real value it is difficult to make $, providing something of value will always win out

 

That sums it up what I did this month. I sold two handbags at $200 and $230 profit respectively.

 

There you go look at dilipsam, hes making money off dropshipping. I know a few other people that makes money on dropshipping. I sell with dropshipping myself and make profit, notthing to big but its a bit of extra cash.

So Xangis, Dropshipping is very viable if you know what your doing. Although, there are lots of people think if i list products they will sell, and those are the people that fail. But I do agree with you in the sense that lots of people think its easier than it sounds.

Bottomline is it works but you gotta push some work into it. Its not a Get Rich Quick Scheme.

 

I am an ebay powerseller with over 10,000 positive feedbacks (100%). I sell network and pc cables there. I also am an Amazon Storefront Merchant selling the same items. My preference, however, is to sell directly from my ecommerce site (no commission payments to ebay or amazon.)

I know of a powerseller who sell small tickets items... I really get a shock when she told me what she do for a selling full time online in ebay.

i BET most of you all can't imagine this --> she sell mostly stuffs that are 1-4 pounds per item. I can't reveal what the product are....

She said she tried big-items before.... but can't sustain her earnings, so she tried small stuffs.. and it works for her..

 

is ebay good place to sell handmade products?

I have sold a number of things, but the biggest amount of money I have made is from these designer jeans that I bought a wholesale crate of and made about $2k, other than that I have made quite a lot of money from cellphones, laptops, and cameras.

Why not? They look like good products to expose on eBay. Two of your challenges will be shipping the items without breakage and being careful to whom you ship as your products will also be attractive to scammers who will try to rip you off.
