Hello, Here are my stats on one of my sites that I recently put online.. My question is concerning the "number of visits". Does this value increment when a visit is received from a UNIQUE ip only or could someone hitting refresh from one machine increment this number?
The yellow bar represents the number of visiters with diferent IP address, and somewhere there must be a bar which will show a unique visitors , that means whose IP encountered for the first time in ur site...so its of two different types
I think unique visitors will be based on the IP address they used, not by the time they refresh the site, they will be considered as returning visitors.
I agree, and also awstats is a server based stat counter that's why every click on almost any of page is counted as a unique visit.
AWStats counts a new visit when there is a page view from a new IP or from an IP that was not active during the last 60 minutes. It is explained in the AWStats Glossary. Jean-Luc
Daily unique visitors are not available in AWSTATS, they are only available for every month. @Jean-Luc's, thanks for the clarification
