Can you get banned from CJ by clicking on your own links?

Just wondering if you can get banned by CJ for buying products through your affiliate links to save money (ie. buying domains from yahoo and pocketing the CJ comission). Thanks for any answers.

Not if that is the sole purpose of opening the account. If you are making money from the affiliates already then I dont see it as a problem.

The merchant is still making the same amount either way, and most don't have a problem with you making your own purchases.

Some of them encourage you to use your own link to use their service. Here is one of the affiliate welcoming email i recveived from a webhosting i affiliated with.

[...So there it is, two great ways to get started earning money today! If we do not currently host your website, now is the time to switch. Use your own affiliate link to purchase a hosting account with us and earn 100% of the hosting sale amount up to $100....]

I've not seen anything that says it is, plus I've been doing it myself now for years so I sure hope not.

NO, you will not since its not a PPC (pay-per-click) and you are not earning for clicking you own ads...

    no worries :)

Some merchants explicitly state that you may NOT purchase through your own link (at least half of the hosting programs). Most don't care. You don't need to worry about getting kicked out of CJ for doing so, though.

The ones that don't permit, just put a friend or family to buy from your links and that's it ;)

Well, the best is to ask the merchant first whether as an affiliate, you can buy through your own links. If the merchant has no problem with that, you are home free.

No problem. I click my links to test them and I also buy from merchants with my links that allow it.

I'm guessing this applies to eBay ads and the eBay search on your own site? Anyone seen any problems from using these?
