So here I am traveling on business (day job). I really wonder if there is anyone out there who likes to travel for work. I have three little kids and my "real boss" at home. One of the reasons why I started to try to "make" it online is to try to eventually stay at home. I think it just sucks but I know of a few who actually like it. I just don't get it really. I miss my family every hour that I am away. Now it is snowing in New England and my flight is tomorrrow - great ! Probably get stuck here!!
I think that there are a lot of people that enjoy it at first and then it quickly becomes tiring and gets old. I haven't ever had to travel much for work, but even when I did it became annoying on some levels.
I guess I don't get the appeal really. I haven't really gotten to "explore" in any depth any of the places that I have traveled to. The only real upside is that I have seen places like Paris, Copenhagen, London, San Fran, and other places. And I usually stay up later, get less rest and work more while I travel!
I also think so but if the businessman discovers deeper about the local life and people where he is working, maybe he will not want to come back home
it all depends on the person and point in life. right out of college, if I'm not married or anything, I think I'd enjoy traveling for business for a year or so... it'd be a free way to see the world and rack up some miles. but after awhile i'd get sick of it, and if I had a family at home I would hate anything more than a couple weeks a year..
Personally, I'm planning on travelling for a rather extended couple of gap years after I leave university. I'm hoping to get a job working for Virgin Atlantic as cabin crew. I love planes and I will be able to work wheat normally end up as 12 hour shifts then have two or three days off and you get to go all around the world. At that point, I'm not planning on having a family. If I ended up with a family before then, I would probably have to rethink, but so long as everything works out, I think it would be pretty good to have a couple of years travelling and exploring the world.
