Marketing with online classifieds?

I have just started making money online, but I was told that the fast easy way to get traffic is free classifieds.

So I went to these sites
www.caklassifieds.com
www.craigslist.org
www.thefreeadforum.com

The first is the best for long term advertising but I need more sites to advertise free at.

Does anyone know others?

 

Free advertising is great, but I recommend investing a little money in paid classified ads. If you have a compelling sales letter/website, the returns will be worth spending a little money up front.

Searching www.google.com will bring up some good sites to use also. (Sometimes i use google adwords to advertise)

What types of "things" do you guys advertise on a classified site? Are they products or services? Or are you trying to advertise your website, with the intention of driving traffic?

 

In short for your answer "Anything and Everything".

 

If they have a section for it you can advertise in it.

 

I've had pretty good luck using free-ads. I'd recommend using a tracking system to find where people found out about your site. Finding what works and determining the target market will be crucial in the early stages.
