Getting away from all of the rhetoric, here is an interesting debate on the Israel/Palestine situation. http://www.democracynow.org/finkelstein-benami.shtml It's long, but it's very interesting and informative.
I watch all of the major segments on CNN, Fox, MSNBC and ABC, then I wander over to Al Jazeera English, DemocracyNow, PBS and NPR for more depth. Let's face it, the MSM features guys like Chris Matthews trying to pit two opposing interviewees against one another, in a wham bam format. You never get the quality of reporting that Bill Moyers or Amy Goodman provide in a proper investigative reporting atmosphere. Dan Rather on HD.net is pretty good, he always has been.
Dan Rather is part of the "mainstream" media. You will never hear him utter any criticism of the "holy" state of Israel.
Dan Rather is an investigative journalist. That's the problem with the MSM. A lot of opinions, not a lot of reporting or interviewing. His work on American sponsored insurgents in Iran, and the undermining of the Constitution on HD.net are pretty good, and well put together. This man has decades of credible, legendary work to his credit, and only got the axe from his long term gig because he was used and lied to.
Do jews make your blood itch? And yes, before you get the chance to ask, muslims do make my blood itch.
I find it more informative to get news from european news sources than mainstream american media. You get more insight and it is far more objective and less opiniated. The problem with the news in the US is that it is getting presented as entertainment. The news is getting tailored to appeal to audiences.
That's the point though. All media is biased, all we can do is make sure we hear both sides and try to find the truth in the middle.
