QWERTY is much better in my opinion, becasue once you are used to it, you will not want to use anything else.
Hey J_o, yeah you can type faster, more acturately and your fingers move less! QWERTY is not 'better' it's just more popular - I think that people need to spend more time thinking about input devices in general because it needs a revolution! I'm not saying that Dvorak is necessarily the answer because I think that we need to think beyond keys altogether... there has to be a better way don't you think? How old is the mouse? The most innovated input device of recent years is the Nintendo Wii controller - I think that is being adapted by PC users as an input device and that is some really good thinking
I'm left handed though, and yeah..I do notice that most keys are on my right.. but that's good for me . Just tried that layout...it's interesting .
Just to give all the Dvorak doubters a laugh - my fancy keyboard broke last week The really annoying thing was that I was in a foreign country on a course so I had to remap the keyboard of the machine I was using - no hassle I hear you say? Well, because my keyboard was a modified Dvorak with the Return, Caps lock and Backspace keys placed in the middle I really struggled to type! I've now returned home and have decided to stick with a standard keyboard layout mapped to Dvorak. The moral of this story is - it's OK to be a smart ass but don't boast too much
