I know that there are quite a few opinions on Social Bookmark sites here in DP but I would like to hear some opinions on them as well as hear from people that actually use them as a social networking site and not just a Link Source!! What would people like to see in a social site as far as things to do?? What would make them fun?? Mp3 uploads, private messaging, live chat, ????????
IMO, by enabling the feature of live chat the social networking sites will be more interactive place. I think myspace has that feature.
Yeah I think Live Chat would be good myself, in fact I am working on a live chat integration as we speak!! I should have one out next week!!
I want one site that rolls all my online social network bits into one place, so I don't have to check eight different accounts every day just to keep up.
Social Bookmarking is what the internet boils down to. IMO the search engines would be smart to take the same route in that whatever sites in the search engines get the most votes or LINKS rank the highest, unfortunately they have all the fan dangled methods that are not fool proof and easy to beat.
Actually, social bookmarks do a lot more then just traffic! It gets the search engines seeing your website all the time! Since starting to do social, I have 20-30 search engine spiders on my sites at all time! I also get indexed every 2 days!
It's sometimes fun to drop in to a social bookmarking site just to see what people like / think is cool - I don't 'do' those sites all the time though - just when I'm bored. Social networking on the other hand, I quite like - I don't do myspace or facebook, but I do like to hang out on some of the more professional ones like LinkedIn - it's nice to see what people within certain industries think is important. There are some groups for my industry on Facebook, but I don't like those since they seem to attract a less selective crowd than LinkedIn. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like the networking part of social networking, but when anyone and everyone decides join it becomes too difficult to find the good stuff in amongst the junk.
Socialbookmarking is different from social networking Social bookmarking is more on bookmarking, sharing and searching your favorite site or it simply more on tagging.. Social networking is more on interaction among the users, it also has lot of features for the users to enjoy..
What features are you talking about?? That is what I am trying to find out, what people like to see in a social bookmark site!!
Social bookmarking site is just more on tagging not like is a social networking there is an interaction among the users like you can add huge lists of friends as your contact, send them testimonials, add videos and audios, you can even had a business in social networking, you can meet new friends. Its broad compare to social bookmarking..
