I am running a web directory. Can I accept gambling related sites with paypal. Will there is any chance of paypal limiting my accounts. The rules are not clear about this:
The best option to take is not to ask such questions here but address them directly to Paypal and have them give you a definition answer to your situation. Make sure you are specific about the nature of your site and all that. In the end, Paypal has the final say in your fate. If you can get a green light now and if they decide to limit you, you can forward their earlier reply to you. Of course, in my opinion, since you are running a general web directory and not a gambling related website, it should not be any problem but like I say, do not take my word for it. All the above relates to actually running gambling websites where people put money and gamble.
I just asked one of the leading web directory, and their answer is that they accept gambling related sites through paypal payment.
I think for accepting payment from gambling sites not would be a problem, looking through this link I found even few gambling sites are using paypal to accept payment; http://www.internet-poker.co.uk/US-.../PayPal-Accepted-Deposits-Casino-Poker-Sites/
So many directory owners as well as bidding directory owners are accepting quality gambling links at their site without having any problem. Its up to you to decide.
What others do does not make it legal or even within Paypal's AUP so if you have a few minutes, it would be best to get a firm answer directly from Paypal and do not rely on our words because if anything bad hits the fan, we are just innocent bystanders.
it is a difficult question, some directory owners have got there accounts limited because of it! i have asked paypal about this, but paypal did not understand my question: yes, a lot of bid directory owners are having those links, but i have refunded because i was having the fear of getting my paypal account limited, also those were against my TOS aswell! Paypal's stance on this is not all that clear, my suggestion: don't accept payments from paypal for those links
Drop em an email. I would suggest asking this from paypal as I dont see any firm answer on this though many other directory owners are accepting gambling related links payment via paypal and I dont see any point in taking chances with the account.
it's against their TOS if you use paypal in a site for gambling..I'm pretty sure they'll be glad to freeze that money of yours..
what about ladbrokes or betfair they have the option of paypal but iam scared of freezing my account.
If you've proposal for developing your site for gambling directories best to get a high risk merchant account from few providers like charge.com, chronopay, instabill, ccbill or netbilling.
i think it all depends of which country you are working. For example, UK users are very familiar with gambling and in that region isn't forbidden. in the opposite side, USA users can't gambling online and can't use ewallets to fund gambling sites. In some cases outside those countries i mentioned it's also a "mistrey" for me. I use paypal for gambling (european country) but i heard horrible stories abourt the frozen funds with some friends.
many sites shown the faq which paypal will be accepted , but like a liar , they usually freeze ur money (paypal) and block ur account (Moneybookers, ecocard) without reason , even in EU countries where the gambling is totally accepted so BEWARE dude
my buddy runs a poker forum and his PP account got frozen (w/ $10,000+). He took paypal off the site, and everything was back to normal. I would contact paypal and see if its okey w/ them.
If I sell links on my not-gambling related site and accept payments from casino owners, can I get any problems with paypal?
Paypal and Gambling are allowed I think some sportsbook uses that payment processor for deposit and withdraw
