Hey, I am trying to figure out a way to get people to my website. I really want to increase the traffic, but I am trying to do this without spending any money. I was wondering if anyone knew of a website/service that promotes websites for free?
There's a lot of info on this site. . . you can start by working on exchanging links and submitting your site to various different directories. It's very time consuming but if done right .. you might have a heavily trafficed website.
I get a substantial amount of traffic from writing articles and posting them to the article directories, especially ezinearticles.com You need to make sure you write a good resource box and give them a reason to click.
Directories work more than people think. Site map to google, submit to google/yahoo, and blogging/comments against niche articles on sites within your industry/topic.
These are all great ways to get free traffic. Another way is to create an ebook and give it away for free. Put plenty of references to your site in it. Put your website address in your email signature. Join multiple forums.
I would try blogs,social networking, forum sigs, and places that promote websites for free. You can use a company like payperpost.com for paid bloggers, HypeDrive.com for networkers and conversators, do free blogs at free blog hoster(just do a google for free blogs), and I know there is website that will post your website for free called www.thenewestwebsites.com. Just research each company and look at every angle before you pay. Always do the free stuff first and then start looking at paying a company. Hope this helped.
Write a good bunch of articles and submit the to every possible article directory. If you 're not good in writing then use an outsourcer to write for you. This is a great way to increase traffic

Start a podcast. That's a good way to get people to your site. They will come to download the episodes and maybe notice other things that you have to offer.
