Racism is a funny, funny thing and for this reason I'm going to explain to you my views on racism, beginning with the magic of reverse racism. Ah, reverse racism. What exactly is 'reverse racism' you ask? Simple! Like many dictionary definitions, there are two explanations. 1. Reverse racism is when a person goes out of their way to be kind to a minority who has, in the past, been unfairly discriminated against. Forget the fact that race has no biological definition, these races were once viewed as inferior, and nowadays in the Humanitarian Generation (that's what we're called, isn't it?) we've decided that these past misdeeds need to be undone and therefore things like affirmative action spring up to make it 'fair' for the little guy (or girl, of course). As seen in the movie "Animal", when the waitress serves the black man his coffee first, despite the fact that he's in the middle of the table between two whites. Unfortunately, people don't realize that reverse racism is still racism, they're just acting upon it in a kinder manner than those who experience racism have grown accustomed to. Generally, this form of racism is left unchecked. This leaves option number 2. Being racist towards the majority, a.k.a. white people. The logic is that this isn't racism because the person is in the majority and it's okay to belittle and attack this person based on their skin color because their ancestors did it to the ancestors of people in the minority. Yes, folks, being white is a bad thing. It's as bad as being black was fifty years ago. It's also as bad as being middle eastern today. As a matter of fact, it's much, much worse. It's warranted of course, white people are all bigots. This form of racism also is left unchecked. You know that "you can call a white guy a cracker, but calling a black man a nigger is racist" bullshit that's spewed out by whiny white people? That's all true. Why? Well, we're humanitarians! We have to compensate for the cruelties spread before our time somehow. A term I often hear is "rich white people." People don't even think about throwing in the 'white' part, it's internally programmed into them to add that unimportant, irrelevant, and completely incorrect detail. Despite employing these tactics themselves, minorities will then proceed to complain about how unfair and evil racism is. Uh, hello? You want to do something about racism? I have an idea. Niggers need to stop calling each other niggers. It's actually not a big deal when somebody uses the word nigger because it was just said somewhere in the world about 200 times. Oh, there it is again. If blacks didn't call each other nigger, the word would die out. In the worst case scenario, a non-black person would call a black person a nigger and it would be a huge deal because it's a racially offensive word. No, it doesn't matter if you're insulting your own race. No, that doesn't make it okay. You're still insulting the race, regardless of whether you're a part of it or not. If racial insults are what minorities are trying to fight against, why use them themselves?

Thank you. :] These are just conclusions I've come to and discussions I've had with my friends. I also like to debate, since I do enjoy learning new things and hearing from opposite viewpoints. It's like gender roles. Men aren't supposed to cry, yet when they do girls (generally) find them 'sensitive'. It's men that enforce the tough-guy stereotype. Same with girls. If a girl dresses provocatively, boys are more likely to enjoy it and not judge, whereas girls will hate the 'slut'

Now why would I in particular use black and white, when nobody else in the world uses these terms for Americans who obviously have differing heritage? Jesus I'm a bitch. I apologize for offending you with my American ways, gamer. The 'black and white' thing is just a generalization for debate purposes. I could have easily replaced 'black' with African American, African, Mexican, Asian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, etc. I can't think of any other 'majority' race other than "caucasian", which, in case you live under a rock, means WHITE.

It's not about black and white people it's about the majority and the minority, especially in America. I hate to break it to you, but there are more whites than asians here. I think you missed the whole point of the thread. It's about RACISM which applies to everyone, not just the minority like minorities and the media make it out to be.

I'm from America. :] I was poking fun at their response which stated that I would never know the name of my race and then provided me with a link that race doesn't biologically exist. Of course racism will exist, but it can be quelled so it's not at such a violent extreme. I admit I /do/ notice when people are different than me. I notice when they have a nicer tan, I notice when they're taller, I notice when they speak differently, I notice... The problem is, other people notice, too, and they can't handle it. :]
I hate to break it to you but there is no such thing as reverse racism. Racism is racism period. Using the term "reverse racism" implies guilt upon the victim of the racist act as if they were guilty of something to begin with.
