hi i am very new to search engines and PR , Backlink and all.... Recently i saw an article somewhere and also looked at some sites which has a script that gets the site info like pr , backlinks , indexed pages in google as well as yahoo Now i want to know what is meant by indexing the pages.... i have 250000 articles on different categories and i want to start a blog network by updating them with articles daily....these articles are 55% + buyed from others and rest are written by me and hired ones. i need to know what is this indexing and how important is this in increasing my PR and also will it bring me traffic automatically All the Pros here please help me .....with a link to any website or thread to study this indexing thing........
The term "indexing" in the realm of search engines generally refers to a search engine finding, downloading, and accepting your site for inclusion on their search engine. This is generally done by programs called search engine spiders or search engine robots. If your network is brand new, the more backlinks that you have, the more likely it is that your websites will be included quickly. There are almost literally innumerable other small search engines you can submit your site to -- the best way to start is to Google your subject matter category to find search engines that would best fit your needs.
Follow the links atladsenser has provided and submit your sites for indexing. However, I've had better luck having high page rank sites linking to mine - when doing this my sites have been crawled much much faster. Kind of off topic - but I've seen a few people here access details about where their traffic came from - can someone point me in the right direction? I'd like to know which search engine they found my site or which link they followed to find my site... anyone ?
indexing the pages means when anyone google about your site means your site results must be appear in google. I think post some articles to ezine articles everyday with in 3 - 4 months you will get good backlinks
I would say build some backlinks and SEs will themselves find you. Also, make sure you submit a sitemap as well.
Market yourself in every possible way, blog, reply to others (comments), promote by wom. Basically to get indexed, search engine should get enough material on your site to store your site as a valid information providing site, and then it should also find reference to your site in multiple locations, for it to decide how important / good your site with ref to other sites that exist on world wide web. get yourself RELEVANT backlinks from web directories in the begining. To get indexed in Google you need AT LEAST on good backlink. If that backlink is also relevant this will help you in serps.
