It’s that time again! The pumpkin patches have officially opened. Pumpkins aren’t just for decoration and pie…it is actually super-nutritious. This my first post of many great Fall recipes. Ingredients: 2 cups cooked pumpkin 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk 3 large eggs 1/2 cup maple syrup 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter eight 6-ounce baking cups or a medium size baking dish. Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the custard into the cups or baking dish. Place the dish or cups in a larger dish filled with water and bake for about 50 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Cool & Refrigerate
you got me here! i love cooking.. i'm my mom's assistant chef.. i love to eat that's why i need to learn and love cooking!
I like to cook so we have an arrangement. I cook and the wife cleans up. Works well although I did have to buy her a new dishwasher.
Yeah, when I cook at home, my mom cleans up after... When I cook for my GF...she cleans up can't complain hehe
Yeah it's the only way to go. If I had to cook as well as clean up afterwards I would not enjoy the cooking as much.
Clean up is the best part... So long as you keep up with it, it's not that difficult. Clean as you go.. Sometimes you have to wait for things to cook.. Use that time, or time in between entrees to clean up.
My grandmother began teaching me to cook in 1949 (6 yrs old). She started off with the small things such as frying eggs, bacon and toast. If fact she taught me the art of eggs sunny side up and how to flip them without breaking the yolk. Yes, even how to poach an egg. Gradually she moved me into the home made biscuits, cakes, desserts, cobblers, ice cream, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, southern fried chicken, etc. All of this done from scratch. In those days we seldom ate anything that was not prepared from scratch. In those days most boys and men were not allowed in the kitchen except to eat and take out the trash. However, my grandmother believed that even boys should know how to cook and clean. She made certain all of us boys (4 of us) would be able to take care of our self long before we were out on our own. Thank God for grandmothers. I still cook to this day. I especially love to cook using the grill. I can turn out one mean grilled chicken, steak, burgers, fish and veggies. Smoking meats is one of the things I really like doing, especially turkey. So, yeah! I like to cook. Ken P.S. Chef Tom thanks for the pumpkin recipe.
