I site has linked to me like this www.site-that-is-linking.com/redirect_cat.asp?CategoryID=23 Does this still count for PR? thanks
OMG he was trying to give an example. Sorry I could not be of more help fadetoblack22 I am sure someone here will. I love metallica too.
thanks "Stanley Lyndon" for being the most awake in this thread. Yeh metallica are the best! credit to the others though...the link didnt display as I wanted it to - It cut short and made it into an actaul hyperlink. Here is the example again: site-that-is-linking.com/redirect_cat.asp?CategoryID=23
Yes, but being a dynamic link means that the link will probably change or be deleted some time in the future, leaving you with no back link or worse a irrelevant page linking to your site.
I think it will because google dont check how link looks. It check as source code and in it only your site name like www.you.com But if it is dynamic i dont think its good
I believe the smart search engines should look at the url and just use that information for pagerank calculation. So yes, should count. But I've also heard that url parameters lower the pagerank? Anyone know about this?
the link is an example of using dynamic redirect. show it is a question whether that kind of link would has effect on PR for the site it point to. i have no idea whether it count or not. but if it does maybe it wouldn't last.
LOL! can;t believe some are actually trying to follow the link well, it is redirected link and will NOT count. reason sites do redirection is to keep the spamers out. example is MySpace which is using URL redirection now for some time. MySpace is now spammers paradise (lot of legid users are there also but more spammers than real users i think) where spammer come to market their site by posting on other peopl's profile leaving backlinks. that forced MySpace to start using url redirection and those redirected URLs dont count as backlinks.
