I score pretty high on Google for 2 KWs

My blog http://myspacelayouthelp.blogspot.com ranks 64 for the KWs free hot myspace layout and 96 for hot myspace layout

My wonder is why my traffic is pretty low.
    Overture tells:
    1. free hot myspace layout has 3000+ searches/day
    2. hot myspace layout has 850+ searches/day

By any interpolation, I should have had 250-300 uniques per day but it is 1/3 of it!

Any idea what is wrong? OR is it correct? Should I do anything?
    Thanks in advance.

I think because most people will only surf to page 3 and satisfied with that. Rank 64 is on page 7 and 96 is on page 10. Most people won't go "that far".

Most people will only click on the first 10 links. Keep building links and you will gain in SERP rankings.

what is your targeted keyword "free hot layout myspace" or the keywords you mentioned above, if mentioned above keywords are your targeted keywords than move them up at starting of title tag to improve your rankings for that keywords

    Hey there,

I would try some social bookmarking.

There are a lot of people who have myspace accounts so social bookmarking your site will pick up pretty fast if you have some nice designs.

    SIncerely,

I hate to break it to you but #96 and #64 are definately not high rankings, and i would expect basically little traffic in these positions.

You may be right but my traffic has actually reduced from around 200 (when rankings were paltry) to the present levels. This is what worries me

Traffic has decreased for these 2 keywords, or traffic in general?

If it's for these two keywords, a possible reason is alot of people display the Google results as 100 per page. So if you ranked 101 you would be at the top of page 2 and more likely to get hits then being 96.

I have experienced this effect before.

Yes two words. MSN and Yahoo traffic are like they used to be. I think what you said makes sense. So, it boils down to wait-n-watch endgame.

Thanks, this is one thing I am yet to do. Indeed, it's a timely reminder.

AS a natural visitor, I always prefer visiting site that is on page 1 & 2. The default number of result in google is 10, so meaning that your site is in the deeper page.

Overture has stop to update the real searches and you should also know that Overture searches are a bit over estimates as they encurage Pay Per Click. Your rank for the keywords you mentioned will be changes in the next weeks, if you have a new website, it will appear for the keywords you mentioned because google have indexed your site, but because of google keep an eye of how old your site is, will place it in sandbox or will put it somewhere far in search for keywords if your blog does not have relevant backlinks.

    Good luck!

You have to be on page 1 to get much of the traffic, and especially in the top 5 results for that KW to receive any significant traffic for that Keyword.

I'd say 90% of that traffic will go to some link on the first page. 9% on the second page. And the last 1%, who knows.

Those rankings are most certainly not high, unfortunately. If you search those for those terms in Google, are you more likely to click on one of the results on the first page or go to the very last page? The answer is obvious.

I rank decently for some of the keywords "make money blogging" and "blogging for money", both of which are very popular. In make money blogging my link appears on the third page as of the last time I checked, and I don't get too many visitors. People usually click the results on the first or second pages, and not much more.

    In the mean time,

my Google ranks have increased for the 2 KWs I am targeting.
    hot myspace layout -- 38 from last week's 96

free hot myspace layout -- 16 from 38 last week
I have really done pretty little but submitting one article to ezinearticles.
Can I take it that its time has come?
