I did a dumb thing... or was it my wife??

I received an adsense payment in May... and none in June, July, or August.... and, well, I thought I should have received a small hundred dollar-or-so payment during each of those months, but life was kind of busy and I didn't really think about it.

And then I received a payment in September. And I noticed their envelope was not really marked with Google's logo or anything like that.

And I said to my wife, "Do you think you might have thrown any envelopes like this one out?" And she said, "I don't know... maybe. It looks like junk mail."

Sooooo.... stupid me.... I think I lost a few hundred dollars in google checks. Am I out of luck? Or can I contact google in hopes that they "understand" my situation?

Sorry to hear this, That plain out, sucks.

And I don't think they will "understand" the situation, unfortunately. They did your part, and ... your wife didn't do her part (check the mail), (a lot of people don't really check mail and just throw it out).

Sorry, but I don't think you will get the money value sent to you.

Login to your Adsense account and make sure the payments were sent.

If Google had sent the checks, write to them and tell that the checks were "lost".

    Ask for a new check.

If you have never deposited the cheque then you are able to request for a new one, they will know if you deposited or not so you are good to go, but i thought there was a limitation on how many months before they stop resending the checks? half a year?

Jumping on the bandwagon and saying e-mail Google. They will re-issue your checks.

Before emailing Google, don't forget to check your payment history page and status of payments (if issued). This will tell u if you have really lost any check.

Indeed, first thing is to check your adsense account for any payments sent.
If there are some sent that you didn't receive request new payments.
I'm sure the G will be happy to comply.

I don't know what to say for your situation, but why did not you try EFT instead of cheques?

if you want to wait for a year, Google will credit back your money to your adsense account even if you did not report "check lost". It happened once to me. I did not realize that I lost my one month check. After a year, I saw some money credited back to my account.

Dont worry. Just tell google that you didnt cash the earlier checks (if at all they were issues). check under payment history.

Google will credit the money back to your account and send u next month. Dont ask for reissue just ask for re-credit money back to your account.

He means if you don't take any step (like ask them to reissue), in this case checks/earnings won't get lost. Google will credit back automatically after a year.

Many thanks for all the replies.

I did check my adsense account payment history... and, yes, there are two lost checks.

I emailed them... interested to see what happens....

    Thanks.

Most of the people have already given you a good idea. If you haven't deposited the check all you have to do is ask them to cancel it and write a new one! I know someone who did this and they did get another check!
