    stOx you make me laugh....

For the sake of not wanting to hit arrogance with you I will keep my opinion limited to your ignorant responses in terms of this thread.. but thank you for the time and will take what I can from your opinions for future thought :)

So is that a yes or a no? Do you or do you not have criminal record checks for people working with children?

Or is it neither yes or no and instead; "shit, he has a point, I'll just make some remark about ignorance and them slither away while pretending my desire to discontinue the conversation is something to do with his flawed argument"

LOL hardly a need for me to disregard or contend that you have a point.

You have raised a few valid points in your opinions in which I have said I am grateful for and have taken aboard, however the majority of what you have said is not what a parent wants or would feel content in accepting iun regards of raising there child in a safer environment.

We have checks over here - but not all employers go through right protocol and administer the checks. Needless to say our justice system along with many others is a joke at best of times and that having a public pedophile register is not harming anyone. The convicted has already been convicted so there should be no need or desire to hide there details away and censor what the public has a right to know.

And on the other side this is a forum and you are valid in making your opinion so I can not say you are flawed but debating on a subject that you have no children or parental duties to establish the link makes your reasoning less acceptable to me. Now if you said you had children then I would try very hard to consider your points or why you persist. But personal opinion only cuts it a little..

Fortunately laws aren't based on what parents want. They are based on whats best for everyone.

Since you're not a parent let's bring it to a level you can understand. Say there was a dog molester and he liked to kick dogs which you care so much for that you go and spend your time looking after them instead of people. Would you like to know whether such a disturbed individual was living close to the park where you walk your dog? Or if he were to come and adopt one of the dogs you claim you look after?

    Just a thought.

Funny how you chose to quote that part out of all my text....which again was predictable....

Which is why I said the justice system is a joke.. And there are laws out there that let there be a public register but unfortunately my state is behind in the times. Eradication of pedophiles and pedophilia is more of benefit to the public and parents than letting them go free after conviction and sentences.

Now I think I have exhausted all means to debate the right and wrong with you - however I am sure you will drag more repeated thoughts of yours into the equation, I look forward to my daily therapy of laughing - but dont feel offended if I choose to not reply

It's quite simple: the less pedophiles you have on the streets (or in your neighbourhood) the less attacks you have on little innocent children.

    If there were people liable to start kicking doors down of people who molest dogs :rolleyes: his details shouldn't be made public. Tell me exactly what part of this you don't understand I'll try to explain it a bit better for you;
it's nothing to do with the crime, it's about idiots taking matters in to their own hands. What difference would me knowing where he lives make?

How would putting their names on lists "eradicate" them?

I suppose in your eyes it's children/humans we are talking about so the "idiots" would be the ones trying to instill fear in the pedophiles, trying to protect children. Not that you would understand that concept.

    Just remember: less pedophiles=safer children.

You are so wound up in your agenda to defend the justice system and convicted that you are missing the point.

Putting there names on a list doesn't reduce the numbers the numbers have already occurred!

It helps reduce further incidents and helps parents to know how close in proximity they are, so when the children are out they know were they can go and cant go ( as it is not only younger children it happens to ).

It is peace of mind for parents and adding to that 100% care you talk so much about , every parent wants 110% not your minimal 100% to secure a safe environment for there children.

Only jumping back in to to state my absolute disagreement. Criminal Law exists primarily to protect the innocent from those who would harm them - in its most basic manifestation, democracy ensures that the minority is not vanquished by a willful majority; ensures minority opinion and its adherents are not vanquished by a "tyranny of the majority."

In this vein, there is no more defenseless creature than a child. Pedophiles feed on children, and by doing so abrogate their right to exist in civilized society.

I find it curious that you are strident, to the point of religious fervor, in arguing atheism:

-"They" being people of religious faith. Now, I am an atheist, but readily admit it takes as much religious faith to categorically deny something not seen as to categorically state its existence. Yet, you do not see the hypocrisy endemic to your view, when you at the same time argue the stand you have taken above.

Children are to be protected, by any means necessary. In this regard, to be perfectly honest, as a father, laws exist to prevent me from personally ending the miserable life of a shithead such as is described here.

Only for a moment, brother. My damn hands get itchy enough.

Funny, though - dramatic leave-taking, and posting from time to time. (Hides his head in shame).

Proteindude clearly said "less pedophiles = safer children". I was asking him how putting their name on a list would reduce how many paedophiles there are. I think he, and you to some extent, Are at the point where you will agree with doing anything on the grounds that you don't like paedophiles, It's illogical and nothing but a reactionary response.

"lets paint them blue"... "I don't like paedophiles, I agree!"
"lets call them all Gary"... "I don't like paedophiles, I agree!"
"lets deprive them of double glazed windows... "I don't like paedophiles, I agree!"

perhaps you can invent a paedo-radar. because they don't stay in their houses you know.

This is the kind of rhetorical nonsense speech i was expecting to come soon.
So because parents want an impossible amount of protection we need to do what you propose, Even though, if you are a good parent, it will make your child no more safe?

Yeah, Well i want 111%! Top that!

Think about what you are saying. How would putting their name on a list remove them from civilised society? If you want to argue for keeping them in prison then do that, But what you have said does in no way support a public list of convicted paedophiles.
