I have kept up-to-date on this war and can't help but think that so many people are losing their lives over what could possibly be an oil war?
I just don't know if it is still about terrorism or freedom. This war has gone on for so long now that I think it has gotten off track. What is it going to take to get it back on track? So many people have lost their lives, so many children left without a mother or father or grandfather. I have found a link that has kept and up to the minute total on the deaths in Iraq. (At least I hope it is)

I have also written a small article on the subject. I am not sure if I can post that link here or not. Can someone tell me please?

I think because you're new here you can't post live links yet. you must be a member for a while or you must have a certain number of posts before you can do that.

I guess your question is similar to whether police should be given more powers. It's all fine to say NO, until you are harassed by a nutcase or whatever when you realise IF police had more powers then it would be an easier one to solve.

If we stood up to the terrorists THEN the war would end a lot sooner. Don't forget, it's not just the war in Iraq that is being fought, it's also the war fought by the Democrats on behalf of the terrorists.

Not for freedom any more ( it was justified as that but lost that plight after continual attacks and involvements ) it has all to do about religion and oil among many other government politics and benefits.

The reality is that no amount of policing can stop a nutcase. There is a reason why the 2nd amendment exists.

How much more can we stand up? We've allowed warantless wiretaps and searches, compromised habeas corpus, we're going to be numbered with a national ID, we can't take our toothpaste on airplanes, and none of the hijackers were American citizens.

If we wanted to take a stand against the terrorists, we would stop supporting the Saudi royalty. We would push for peace between Israel and Palestine. We wouldn't have supported Saddam when he attacked Iran, or overthrew an elected leader (Mossaddeq) in Iran in 1953. We wouldn't have funnelled arms and money to Bin Laden in Afghanistan to fight the Russians.

I love the people who insist there is no such thing as "blowback". Canada and Australia are as prosperous and free as America, and you don't see terrorists attacking them or their populations living day-today under the fear of attack.
