Just as I was hitting $40-$50 everything crashed. I'm lucky to make $10 a day now and that's with roughly 20 blogs. What the heck happened??? Jean
I doubt it is a question of colors. His clicks number is same, so are the impressions..the only thing changing from the past months is the revenue. Sem Advanced gave a logical explanation, adword bidders have found your site as one of those that brings to them less profit, and hence have probably blocked your site and now you get low paying ads published.
Down 50 percent this year with more traffic.. decline for me also started in May and has been nonstop... welcome to the new Adsense. Actually last year in October at this time I was at $32 a day now $15... so it is worse that 50 percent.
Something is definitely amiss. I know many of the dealers and they say they haven't been really changing their adwords campaigns.
I've had the same problem a couple weeks back my revenue dropped like a rock its about 20% of what it was if that
An article on the site Fu*kedGoogle.com is noticing a big downward trend with Google. It even references this thread. Check it out, it might explain something: http://www.fuckedgoogle.com/googinfo/2007/10/hiring-and-spen.html Definitely not a good thing. :/
It sounds like you were smartpriced by Google. I found that finding out what pages are not producing clicks for you and deleting the google adsense code from them helps. So does removing all the adsense code from your site for 4 days also helps. Keeping Google guessing is what you want to do. I am sure you can think of a creative way to do this.
Initial thought: It might be that someone maliciously put your Adsense code on another website, which is impacting your overall earnings (overall "quality score" is another way of looking at it). This is just a quick thought of mine, and I haven't even checked out the website you mentioned, but it just seems like it is possible that something like that might have happened.
that is definitely not a good website. it links to us, then links to another site that is nothing more than a link to us... and none of it provides any proof that "Google has slashed ad payments to web publishers by up to 90%"... ignorant crap designed to drive traffic. that said, my average epc is the worst it's ever been, and it's not the fault of the mfa'ers either... the ad targeting changed radically, in the space of just a few days this week, plus i lost a bunch of google image search traffic, and it all started getting weird when i experimented with the "allowed sites" feature.
I have the same problem - from approx the 3rd week of September until now - my earnings are less than 50% of what they were despite increased page views and clicks! I understand that this is not happening to everyone, but it is happening to too many people to just be a coincidence. Incidentally in October 2006 my earnings went up compared to the previous month - this is definitely not going to be the case this year unless there is a sudden turn around....
The F**dGoogle article is about the best theory on why earnings are down across many categories. This has nothing to do with ad colors, location of ads, etc., and more with the fact the mortgage industry downward spiral is a cause of concern to the economy and money is now tight. Discretionary spending is also down. Christmas for retailers is likely to be lackluster.
Could advertisers be chaning tactics from CPC advertising? Or move advertising networks? As a europeaner with mainly european traffic, it has been consistant for me. Infact the last two months have been over the $1 ecpm. Perhapse advertisers have moved to CPM advertising(and take the biggest sites, use an adwords account to see how you rank in the "automotive" category) or CPA on google adsense, or even moved over to Yahoo!? I think your backlinks were decreased. Why i am telling means daily my backlinks are decreasing. Just check the backlinks and positioning of your site
