I'm in the US but I went to Europe in May for a few weeks and things are WAY expensive with the exchange rate like it is.

Prices will be back high - this happens in economy - instabilities because of some economical/political events then back to normals

Actually this tends to prediction of seeing USD higher than it's past value in the near future.

Speaking as someone who was actually for the war in iraq the effects on the US economy are plain to see and personally i don't think you'll see the full effects for another 10 years. The US are plowing so much money into military spending which could of been used to improve infrastructure, education and health. Other countries are investing heavily in these sectors and the difference is beginning to show.

I think the prices are going to start dropping and FAST. Just heard on the news there are huge lineups at the border to get into the US and tourism to the Canadian site has dropped dramatically.

The problem is a lot of retailers buy their stock early in the year so they can't start dropping prices immediately as they did pay more for those goods. But, it's only in their best interest to take a loss and start cutting prices hard or everyone will just end up shopping in the US.

Yeah.. I hope the prices drop nearing Christmas time :) (then the loss of income from my business will be 0.0000% less harmful lol).

Ordering online is much cheaper now too

It's pretty close now (USD / AUD) compared to what it was like a few years back. Good for Australia but not as good for me. =)

Would of been great getting paid in USD before when it was like 1 USD bought almost 2 AUD... double... yay!

$1 USD = RM3.39390 MYR. Still high, no problem unless I'm buying something.

Hey, I just got a thought... some businesses in the US must be benefiting from this weaker currency since more people are wanting/willing to buy from the states :D

Come on you are making big deal of it - the USD didn't fall that big - the price difference is so small

in my country the USD lost 2 cents against my local currency so it doesn't make a difference unless you go for few hundred thousands of dollars ;)
