Is it too late?...

    Here my current situation:

I been submitting my newly create "environmental" site/blog to some directories, about 12 directories so far. I been targeting the word "current environmental issues" through out my submissions. But I just had a change of heart and decide to make my site on a different but similar topic, "hybrid cars".

Is it possible to still get my site ranked for "hybrid cars" instead of the original keyphrase "current environmental issues"?

I'm starting to submit my same site to more directories but with the new keyphrase and a new description of my site....is it too late to make these changes?

*my site hasn't been index in the SERP yet, but if they do will they be listed under my original keyphrase?

    thanks

You changed the focus and content of your blog, hope you didn't forget to change titles and meta tags.

Concerning the links, you already placed in directories, usually there is a chance to edit them, so you may wish to change the text and anchor in those directories (probably the category too)

Where this is not possible, don't worry too much, as they are not theme related, they will loose a good part of their value, but they are for sure no obstacle to rank well for your new keywords if you have done your on page optimization well.

Your targeted keyword "current environmental issues" is in far relation to "hybrid cars". If you think hybrid car is best keyword for your blog then it's ok to change it but it takes another time to rank your keyword in SERP.

just a quick note that I only just started submitting with the keyphrase "current environmental issues", it only been 3 days since my site/blog been live....

my pages and site has been optimized for the new keyword "hybrid cars" so hopefully I can rank for that term...

I'll try and see if i could change my info on the dir i already submitted.

[bomberman] - after thinking about it...hybrid cars and current environmental issues are way two different things....we'll see if the changes can be made..

If you want google to take notice, you need to get other, legitimate sites of similar interest to link to your site. This is the number one factor with google as even publicly explained by them.

To me it does not look like "in far relation" but a very strong argument for a latent indexing string. :D
