Wow, who told you that? Or, if no one's told you, why would you believe that?

The constitution also didn't free slaves, you think slavery should still be around? Of course not, that's what amendments are for...

#1 A small meaningless pledge, if it's so meaningless then why the outrage for having it removed? Would you pledge allegiance under Allah? Are you unable to answer this?
#2 If I am taking sides it's do to the constitution and our founding fathers intent, NOT on religious matters. When it comes to politics the constitution ALWAYS trumps personal or religious beliefs IMHO.

How can you not get it? Would you pledge under allah? Yet you expect those who do not believe in 'god' to pledge to god? Are you serious?

Will you pledge to Allah, it's pretty simple and to the point. Will you allow your children to be forced to be taught Muslim beliefs?

I start somewhere and move elsewhere? LOL, you keep being proven wrong, your own 'facts' you put out have been proven wrong with actual facts time and time again which as brought us to the point we are at now. You stumbling trying to find a way to show all Atheists are evil, and God somehow should be forced upon our children and citizens of this great land.

I don't believe the founding fathers were worried about the meaning of marriage at the time the constitution was written, do you? I think they had alot more to worry about, things that actually mattered.

I don't choose and pick, that would be you trying to choose and pick for your religion and your beliefs ;) I am for having everyone equal, the constitution strictly applied acrossed the board, unlike you.

Some Atheists go to far, did I not already bring that point up?
I believe I did in this very thread, about allowing children to pray in school did I not?

I unlike you actually put the constitution above all else, in cases that makes me back people I normally would not do ;) I however proudly do it as it's what makes our nation great and what the country was founded on.

The problem with comparing it to preaching Muslim beliefs to non-Muslims is that proteindude and others don't have the ability to picture themselves as the minority religion. Relating back to slavery, I'm sure this is why "separate but equal" was allowed for 58 years. When you can't imagine yourself in the minority role, it's hard to understand why people like us don't want government favoritism for the majority. Atheists don't seek to eliminate Christianity and all religions, just GET IT OUT OF GOVERNMENT. The problem is they see getting religion out of government as pushing our beliefs in, when in reality we just want a neutrality in government.

I see your self righteousness is being chipped away. I hear they still have some Ten Commandments plaques displayed in some courts in USA (small towns). Quick, mobilize your atheistic friends and start lawsuits for religion has no place in this country.

And while you're marching to victory, what song are you singing again?? Sorry I just missed its title.

Ok, let me make this clear: I WOULD NOT LIKE IT (I WOULD BE TOTALLY OPPOSED TO IT) IF IT SAID ALLAH. However, I would not go around mobilizing my friends it it said under alien Dobsy. Since I would consider alien dobsy a made up (non existant) creature (an alien that lives on Mars for example).

After all, the atheists claim there is no God, so it should not bother them. I believe aliens (from Mars or wherever) don't exist so it would not bother me. I hope you see the difference.

The Constitution does not allow a straight man to marry a straight man either. So we are all equal. Sodomites want special rights not equal rights. They can also marry someone of the opposite sex so they are equal.

So you would be opposed to a pledge of "nation under Allah", but not under "nation under <made up religious figure here>". By your same argument, shouldn't Allah be fine since that God is not real for you Christians? You should be able to see there is no difference between the two, its an endorsement for a specific religion (whether you believe the religion is real or not). You try to make the argument that you don't support "nation under Allah" for whatever reason you may, but you can't see why atheists would not want any "nation under <religious figure>". What is so difficult to grasp there? As the quote goes, " When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."

Proteindude, I hope one day you'll realize that I have no issues with religion, but I don't want it endorsed and supported by my government. As I've said, time has shown us that religion being tied into government is a great recipe for tyranny, and it's something I'd much rather avoid.

You see my goal of getting religious neutrality in government as an affront to Christianity, when in reality I'm looking out for my beliefs, and everyone's beliefs. You want your majority religion to be tied into government, because shit, if the government is going to support/endorse anyone, it might as well be the religion you support, right? I hope you aren't so shortsighted as to realize the possibility that one day Christianity will not be the majority religion in this nation, and realize the repercussions of a) being the minority religion, and b) the majority religion wanting payback on Christians for years of having Christianity supported by our government. But you can't see the forest for the trees; you are so blinded by protecting your religious values in our country, you fail to see that people like me are trying to protect ALL religious values.

/And the Constitution doesn't say shit about marriage.

Well, this answers your own question which you asked earlier: What can Christians do that atheists can't? Here's one obvious one: They can't write/compose inspiring songs.

Atheism is boring, non inspiring and musically opposed.

Something tells me you would mobilize your friends if it made you pledge under a different god than your own.

They claim there is no god which = they should not be forced to acknowledge something they don't believe in now should they? An alien is a bit different than a supposed all might creature where everything is based off according to religion. Totally different, I wouldn't even call it apples to oranges it's that far off.

As far as the constitution not allowing a straight man to a straight man, I wouldn't think a straight man would want to marry a straight man in the first place.

I'm glad you acknowledge the fact that there is nothing in there which = according to the constitution it's not a constitution based idea.

Does it also make it legal for man and woman to marry? I'm very confused as to your logic here.

Good to know you don't support a worldview based on the folk culture around it and how warm and fuzzy it makes you feel inside.

So all music is written by christians? Wow, I never knew that

Want to know what i think of christian music? Mundane, monotonous, monotone garbage. it's nothing more than a crappy suck-up song to your invisible friend.

What instruments do you play protiendude? I play piano, and guitar.

What do you think of Beethoven? Berlioz (the guy that wrote most church music that you praise highly)? Bizet? Brahms? Bob Geldof (responsible for live aid)? Billy Joel? John Lennon? Dave Matthews? Mozart? all atheists.

Compare the music produced to these amazing musicians to the regurgitator garbage you sing.

Dude, if you know anything about me, you would know I consider Allah to be the god of war. He is satan using another name (Allah) and that is why it bothers me.

You have no understanding of history. You don't know how many Christians were killed by Allah followers and that is a totally different thing you're trying to pull here. I don't remember the last time a group of Christians attacked say Russia for being an atheistic country.

I come from an atheistic/communist country and believe me I know what it's like when Christianity is in the minority. I got news for you, even in the USA Christianity is in the minority. That is why you have sodomites marching on the streets, that is why you have homosexual indoctrination, that is why you have casinos etc.

Wow, I knew it was coming....the "Christians are the oppressed minority" cry! That is so far from the truth, it's hilarious. Give me a bit to get some sources to totally debunk that ridiculous claim.

In any case, can we stop making atheism synonymous with communism, because the links that I and the other guys here have posted have debunked that myth. Never mind the fact that a lot of atheists, like myself, are CAPITALISTS.

You are confusing atheists and totalitarians; both have the goal of eliminating religion from government, but for very different purposes. Never mind the fact that from the sound of it, GRIM is not an atheist, and he supports the fact that religion needs to be separated from government. Atheists aren't the only people who want this to occur. Christianity is by far the majority in this country, but a good chunk of Christians just don't want to push their beliefs upon everyone else. That is why you don't see yourselves as the majority in this country: a large portion of you don't want to step up and campaign to push your Christian values on everyone else. To those Christians, I commend them.

Christians have slaughtered other religions in the past, do you dispute this? Crusades ring a bell?

Is that so? Just for the record, my favorite musician has written some beautiful songs - and according to some people, inspiring songs.

And they have nothing to do with religion.

Also, I think the pledge should say "one nation under Tokio" - I believe in myself.

I think you skipped another small set of questions regarding how good you are and how bad some Christians are also. So here are the questions again, before we move to the next ones:

Have you heard of pride?? So let's ckeck some of your morals. Have you ever told a lie? If so, what does that make you?

Have you ever stolen anything? Ok, so what does that make you?

Ever hated anyone? Or ever coveted what some of your friends have/had?

So if you don't like Christian songs, carols or whatever give me an atheistic song that has atheism as its theme, please give me a link or something so I can decide for myself if it's nice or not. Give me an atheistic song that can brighten my day: "You little Johnny are a purposeless bunch of atoms la,la la You little Johnny come from a monkey that came from a fish la, la, la, One day you will die and then that's the end of it all, la,la,la."

You are seriously delusional. Atheism isn't like religion: it's the antithesis of religion. We don't meet up (for the most part) and worship and practice our beliefs. We don't make songs dedicated to our beliefs. We don't have absolute truths that command our actions. You are trying to adapt the ways in which a religion typically behaves to atheism, but it DOES NOT WORK.

We don't live by absolute truths that tell us lies are always bad, or that coveting is a sin, or anything like that. Personally, I think lies are bad most of the time, but I don't see it as an absolute truth; I know there has been at least a few occasions in my life when telling a lie to someone did more overall good than bad. Atheists in general realize that humans are fallible, but we don't see it as a sin which we need to repent for -- in general we just try to realize our flaws and better ourselves in the future. I'm sorry you can't accept this, but I don't ask you to, I just wish you could give a modicum of respect for differing beliefs.

You are entirely too self-absorbed to understand that atheism is not like a religion, and I feel sorry for you. Best of luck to you.

For one, I'm not perfect. No one is.

Also, you're in no position to check my morals. It is not for you to judge me. I highly doubt you're completely pure either.

And I don't have any 'atheist' songs. I have plenty of songs that aren't about religion but none specifically about atheism.

And I don't want any, I'm not atheist.

And what does it matter? Why does there need to be 'atheist' songs? Why do there need to be 'Christian' songs?

Music is not bound by religious beliefs. And whether or not it will brighten your day depends on the listener.

Give me a Christian song that will brighten my day. I'm pretty sure you can't, because what makes you happy doesn't make me happy.
