Should I use CPM or CPC?

Hi,



Should I use CPM or CPC based programs?
How would Itell?


I'm getting about 30-35k uniques, so I guess CPM?
CPC - they only count clicks not impressions correct?


I've used some CPC programs, but only received about 100 clicks per day which is not even earning enough for the amount of traffic I'm getting

It depends on your niche as well. I would go with CPC, to be honest. Try google adsense.

 

Yup I'd go with CPC also, CPM is very random IMHO and the CPM rate will vary with the quality and origin of traffic.

 

Why not both ?? Place a CPM banner somewhere on your site and also place CPC ads. 30-35k uniques per day should get you nice income from CPM based ads though I wont suggest using pop-ups.

 

which CPM site you have used ?

 

If your CTR is poor then try optimizing your ads further. If you keep trying and still can't seem to get that much of a CTR then maybe choose a CPM ads network.

Well, You can do some calculations. for example You combine two CPM networks (one for popup, second for inpage banners, and if You don't know any good try this list of CPM networks ). the first from the list pays up to 1.80$ per 1000 impressions of popups, and second one pays up to 1.00$ per 1000 impressions of inpage banner. assuming You're getting 30 - 35k uniques/month You could earn up to ( i assuming Your traffic is UK/US based - this traffic have the highest prices ):
from first company : from 54$ to 63$
from second: from 30$ to 35$
overall: from 84$ to 98$ monthly only from those 2 ad networks.

I personally prefer CPM, dont have to worry about conversions or people clicking...
