hello, I was gonna attempt to do it myself but I don't have the time anymore. I need a new business card designed. 1. I don't want a dull/plain look. make it interesting. 2. reflections, as needed to an acceptable business level. 3. mechanics and dynamics, I'm all about those. logo here, I have used gears, I like principle of the mechanism/gears/mechanics/structure. the business is web software development related. 4. business like, kind of bold to some extent. 5. what text is gonna be in it: name, job title, phone, email and web URL. logo to use is here 6. $30 paypal as soon as work is completed. I'll need high resolution for printing, standard business card size. thanks and good luck.
I'm preparing a concept for you, a higher resolution and/or transparent logo would be much appreciated EDIT - http://richardmyers.richardmyers.karoo.net/netbuscard.jpg
no, but I have high res I'll provide a higher resolution logo when we see something. the card you did is a bit too cluttered, simplify it a bit, give it character, a bold personality, yet interesting to look at business card. kindly awaiting revisions and new contributions to the contest.
yes it is ... I've been waiting for your interest in this contest and of some many others that I don't see here yet.
*bump* bump to raise more awareness contest is still open, submit your revisions... I have $30 I need to give away
thanks for the input. 1. things are a bit asymmetric (text and such); neat it out a bit. 2. I wanted to add a mechanical feel to the card, but there are way too many gears in this design. 3. the reflection of the logo doesn't seem to be even. 4. the logo still doesn't have that retro feel to it yet. When I look at it, I still see a regular business card, nothing too special about it, besides the swirl. 5. where is the thing that gives the viewer a hint of this company as a software creation company? I'm just gonna outline what I said in the main description and what I think it might help you get a better idea of what I want to see: 1.bold, mean/a bit cold. 2.business like. 3.not plain but rather interesting, "rememberable" and recognizable . 4.a bit retro, yet classic with refined taste. 5.reflections; gives the design a better look. 6. stylish, and/yet minimal. 7. the design can have anything related to: programming (lines of code), architecture and structures, and once again, mechanical stuff. It's important that the essence of this company shows in this business card. And another thing: I DON'T NECESSARILY want to see tons of gears flying around, or one gear that's watermarked over the size of the card. It can be anything that adds character to the design, and DON'T exaggerate. All the above points are very important and I think they will help you a lot. People have asked me for my background preference. It may be black as the logo seems to only look good on black, but if you have better ideas, please, by no means, show your concept here. Any questions, please PM me. Submit your concepts/revisions here, you could PM me also, but I prefer to see most of the designs here. If I see something I like, you'll know and we can work to make the design perfect. Looking forward to see more of your design ideas, Cheers, Al.
Here's my try: I would however need your logo in better resolution (in case you decide for my design).
looks ok, but something is not right, looks a bit too girlie, no offense. it would've looked better if the white part where the logo is covered the whole top. Good concept, needs a tiny bit more interesting to it. Number two is great, the best of what has been posted in this contest thread as of yet. It looks too bright for some reason, but gears and data numbers, excellent idea. keep working on the idea, use darker colors, give it a meaner look and maybe make the gear platinum shiny. I'd also like to see everything blend it instead of how you put that curved line there between the white space and the gears. Maybe try to blend the 2 images, add more reflections and more glassy where possible. Yes it is. I'll post when the contest closes here, along with the winner. Good start, needs a bit more personality, don't you think. Keep them coming gals and lads, I like some of the concepts here. thank you, Alex.
yeah T, I remember them. Do you remember my last message? A bit too girlie for my taste... the 2 ideas are far from bold, don't mean to let you down but this is how I see it. I'm gonna outline couple of things I have already mentioned in this thread, just in case you missed them. I hope they help you get a better idea of what is it that I'm expecting. please see my third last post where and this: see this case as it's heading more the right way, the gear concept is not too exagerated, done with some taste in mind, but it still needs improvement , check the comment I left for that design good luck. should you have anymore questions, please PM me. Kind thanks, Al.
