White or Black for business site? I am starting a web design business and I am having problems in which colour to use white or black bought can change the way the site will be built and impressions people get from it. Which should I pick and which would give a better impression of a business site?
White is more "blue chip" where as black can be more "creative" so it very much depends on the company.
Black and White can both give a professional appearance (regardless of the consensus). Black has the added benefit of being more forgiving with images. White will more easily point out if you have a lack of photo editing skills. Why not try both (mockups) and see which you like best. Or maybe you can post a link and put up another poll.
I've seen both black and white designs that are very professional look great. Most companies I've seen that companies tend to go on the lighter side of things as people think that dark is depressing. That being said, my personal preference is for darker color sites. I think that the sheer amount of white that is out on the net right now is annoying. I voted for black because I want to see more sites using darker colors. Both work if designed properly.
For business and news, white is more professional than black, black is more fit to art, entertainment, movies, fashion theme.
I like lighter colors when dealing with professional sites. Black is better for a design or gaming site.
I find white very hard to design with always looks bare to me. I am sort of stuck with designers block at the moment need that creative spark
Right on. If its for any compnay other then some design type group- do white with a simple elegant logo.
Great reply here I will post a link to the concept soon maybe you could help me. Like I said I find white very hard to use always turns out looking plain/bare
I'd go with white for sure. It's clean and I feel it looks more professional, especially for a business website.
Depends on the design really, I personally don't say out of the blue if a colour is more suited to a design. It's how the colour(s) fit with the design and site theme. But then again, I do like white
AudioMad, White looks sharper than black , is easier to read and gives you the most room for versatility with the dark and medium toned texts and graphics
Hi, white websites are easier to read and avoids the surfer getting tired or forcing there vision. Marketing researchs prove that white websites sell 70% more than dark pages when it comes to product selling websites. I would use black/grey colors just for media related (tv, bands, shows, fx) websites Hope it helps
Ok I have uploaded a few pages I decided to go with the white and to keep it focused on content over graphics does this look like a business site (its still not finished) www.dragonstardesign.com
