If google doesn't allow adsense to be run on adult websites, are there tons of adult affiliate products out there? Is that how these adult websites are making money? -jay :afro:
I am sure someone will come along that is in the know, but my guess would be off of subscriptions to the sites. It seems there is a never ending supply of people that will shell out $$$ for 24/7 access to that stuff. Then once they have you in they can go on to promoting different affiliates.
There is more out there than just Google and AdSense. There are tons of other PPC providers. Plus lots of adult affiliate programs.
Most of the adult webmasters I know make money by advertising paid membership sites. They get the traffic through directory submissions and traffic exchange and only get to monetize the part of traffic that is willing to pay each month a membership fee.
ppc probably comprises the smallest portion of adult affiliate revenue. Most revenue is made from subscription sales (like any affiliate program) and selling adspace - either text or banner.
Mmmmm a common thought is that "Adult sites make a lot of money", not always the case, one of the biggest sites in the adult business is said to be going broke - it's a common adult site and is a clone of youtube ;0 . Sometimes it's harder to stay profitable, but I guess it differs from niche to niche in this industry, for instance videos streaming can be very costly - but the amount of traffic can be huge.
Adult sites usually offer subscribe option for very cheap price (like $1 for 24 hours), and people usually like what they see in these 24 hours and want more. So they pay for a year or month price (like $50). This way they cover the bandwidth they make plus more than half of the money go to the site owner. And this is only from one user. Adult sites are usually very popular with thousands of users. They don't even need to place PPC advertising on their site to make big bucks.
They make via subscriptions and selling traffic ad some affiliates... And people still love sex more than money.. http://www.google.com/trends?q=sex,+money&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0
for adult sites, the best i've done is getting PPC income from parking a domain with existing traffic. I tried doing the "3 day pass for $1" thing, and it just didnt compare to clicks. I think with adult traffic, people are more likely to click without thinking, but when it comes to actually paying for soemthing, they would rather click on the next link
'Cause their blood is not in their brains right now No seriously, people tend to click instead of write. That goes for any type of website. I mean they are much more likely to click on an ad than to type in their name, let alone their credit card number
It seems that way, huh? Not too many can think on their own two feet, or, think outside the box. It's always the same ol' things: Adsense, digg, networks, blogs, exchange links....
Hey. lol. Don't poke too much fun at me here Perry Rose, i've only been at this for 5 months. Want to throw me a bone and give me another method to stir up some traffic? right now i just: -write articles -use social bookmarking -have a blog -use classified ads -contribute to forums -use ppc anything you would recommend i explore in getting some more traffic? -jay
