I figured that I would start this thread because I believe that Female Gamers Are a Dying breed. Yes..2 years ago...we came out and united to break the barriers of the male dominated world. Then...Somehow...we went back into the "closet" and became ashamed. What are your opinions on female gamers? Here's a little info on me Current game: Day of Defeat source Current Clan/community: Dssg (digital soldier simulation group) Current Name: [Dssg]Misses A (short for misses Assassin) My stats: http://dssg.hlstatsx.com/?mode=playerinfo&player=8468 (not sure if the link shows up.) Females in the clan: 2 lol I really do love gaming..it's an escape from reality. I get mixed views from new people that come into the server when they find out that I am a female. Some don't grasp it...other's think that somehow they have to be "nice" to me. Such sexual discrimination!
I use to play with some girls on xbox live, they were fun to play with, but they were more outgoing so their experience in the game was less because they played less. But overall, they were fun to play with...
I would say I completely break the mold, I am not only female, but a mom of 4 kids who are homeschooled and I play WOW and D2.
(I'm a female) and there's so many lingo that I don't understand (gaming related). It is a dying breed! I myself haven't played a game since grade 8 maybe things will change one day eh?
Day of Defeat: Source is also my game at the moment, but I'm not a girl Ontopic: I don't think female gamers are a dying breed at all, they're growing steadily in my opinion.
I'm a female gamer. Not much as I used to be. Used to play Sonic and Shenmue alot. But I do occasionally play MMORPGs when I'm not busy or tired.
I am not much onto all the online stuff, and only play what I buy my son for his PS2 and PSP, which is like hitman, grand theft auto, god of war etc.. I use to love the older games like mortal combat, mario bros, lol so maybe I am a dying breed...
I have the same opinion of female gamers as I do guy gamers: if it's Halo 3 deathmatch you're going down. I'm all for equal opportunity pwnage.
When I played World of Warcraft there were a lot of girls in our raiding guild, some were wives of guys playing that played too. I would say maybe 10% or so were girls. After that experience I began to think the opposite, that girl gamers weren't a dying breed, but that more and more girls were playing games.
I'm a female..Sadly my crappy computer wouldn't let warcraft work so i wasted 25 or 50 bucks on a subscription for a month or two I play the xbox.. fav game is need for speed underground.. when i was 11 I got a sega megasystem! (oh boy i feel real old..some of the young'uns won't even know what i'm talking about).. I love beating my bf on a game! haha.. There is an online msn game called pirates or something..can't remember anyway the week he was visiting he wouldn't stop playing(much to my annoyance)..I complained here and there..got to play a few times and completed the game before him! hahahah that was so funny. Didn't mean to. He wasn't happy. oh well. He bought me the warcraft game as well. one day when i buy a macbook pro i'll get use it! I play regularly runescape for the last few years..both my 10yr old (female)cousin and 15yr sis play..they also play a kids online game/community neopets...so they definitely have the gaming bug. so it's definitely not a dying thing in our family.....
I never knew there was a female gamer dominance, not sure what the difference is, I know a few chicks that are good gamers, better then I at some actually
Yes, yes we female gamers do rock!!! I love to play video games of all types, and I can even sit and watch my boyfriend play a good game for hours. I'm like a backseat driver doing that though because I always yell things like "you went the wrong way" or "grab that ammo". Now how many boyfriends can say that their girlfriend is annoying them because she keeps asking him to play a game?
