That's a simple experiment that you can see in any elementary class. They are splitting water into O2 and H2 using electricity. H2 goes boom. ;)

A simliar process is currently being researched, it's called fuel cells. It's what should be out future energy source. :)

If it works then our reliance over fossil fuels would be cut down dramatically not to mention pollution will be greatly reduced.

well I doubt it will be possible in next 20 (maybe more) years, they need to improve in order to overcome this:

Hydrogen fuel cells are a real possibility now - check out the General Hydrogen website. I was once at a conference when they were explaining how they were already using these cells to power buses. The problem is the technology is still in its infancy, large cells are required and the price is prohibitive. As with everything these cells will come down in price and become more efficient over the next decade or so. But gasoline will always be a cheaper, more readily available and convenient fuel.

That's correct, hydrogen fuel cells are relatively easy to create, however the initial energy needed to the reaction to occur is still too great, so they are searching for catalysts to lower it.

I reckon salt water fueled cars will run very very well. If only they could stop the engines from rusting so quickly ;)

Yes it is possible, in a way, in a shape of fuel cells, but oil giants companies will never allow mass production, when they are profiting soooo much.

Even if this is possible and everything, it won't happen until a long time cause the industry is making way too much money from the fuel to just stop it.

But what do you think the water prices will do?? I mean that's why I think they have not made a car yet that can run on water. I belive they already can but they just do not make them cause everybody can get water and oi will loose it price and many countrys will loose their power.

old news (few weeks) and already debunked

yes it's possible to burn water like this, but the energy you put in (microwaves) is larger than the energy you get out from the burning water

so it is not a fuel source
