Is the Social Bookmarking Era Starting to End?

We've noticed that LOTS of people are selling, buying and trading votes and "SU thumbs ups". I thought that social bookmarking sites will just be filled with sites which have been voted for by paid voters, and they will not serve their purpose any more (which is to let the people know which sites are the most interesting ones).

Read this article on social bookmarking and let me know what you think. :p

I don't think social bookmarking sites will just go away, but they will definately need to evolve to counter paid voters.

They won't go away just like that, but people might stop using them if every site under the "what's hot" list is there because of paid voters.

He is not saying anything about traffic he is just trying say that because of paid voters social book marking sites are unable to get real sites on top rather people just pay and get their crappy sites on top which in no way is a good idea.

I don't think that they will disappear, they will have to get with the times and adjust to the trends.

If social bookmarking ends something else will replace it. I don't think that is coming soon thou.

They will not die but will come up with the new trick how to prevent those paid voting people.
