1 in 5 Democrats Say World Will Be Better Off if U.S. Loses War

Diplomacy wouldn't work with Iraq for the following reasons:

#1) UN corruption in the food for oil program
#2) France's economic stake is also substantial. The largest long-term contract in Iraq's oil-for-food program is with Paris.
#3) Trade between Russia and Iraq ran as high as $4 billion a year. The Russian firm Lukoil, which is trying to extract 667 million tons of crude from the West Qurna oil field, says its contracts could be worth another $20 billion. And Iraq still owes Russia $7 billion for weapons purchased during the Cold War.

 

Iraq was not a terrorist state, or a state that sponsored terrorism. That has been established many, many times.

Iraq under Saddam was not a theocracy. It was a secular dictatorship.

However, invading Iraq did create terrorism. So the question becomes, what part did the invasion/occupation play? I seem to recall most of the 9/11 guys were Saudis, and based on reports I have read, many Saudis are oppressed by the Royal Family, and are frustrated with America backing these guys, and stationing troops in their holy land.

Maybe occupation, per Robert Pape, is the leading cause of terrorism, not Islamic Fascism. I think Islamic Fascism might be #2, but it's a lot easier to withdraw than it is to convert millions of people to a new religion.

 

Meanwhile the republicans are in the bathrooms at airports getting busted on looking for anonymous homosexual sex. Whee!

Incorrect. It has not been established. In fact, Iraq was a terrorist state and it did sponsor terrorism. This, has been established over and over.

Iraq paid $25,000 dollars to the families of suicide bombers who went into Israel to kill Jews for virgins. Early on in the war, an international terrorist responsible for American deaths was captured hiding in Iraq. al qaida was in Iraq prior to the war. There were terrorist training camps in Iraq, before the war.

 

I can never understand why they blow things up to receive virgins when they could just get a new blow up doll everyday
