If You Don't Think Google Can Detect Paid Links........

If you don't think Google can detect paid links....you may want to think again. At Text Link Center, we have created the world's first Paid Link Detector. It's in BETA mode, but we plan on releasing it as a product in the near future.

The Paid Detector proves just how worthless most paid text links are and that Text Link Ads is a joke. The video should explain everything pretty well.

Your tool just states that all links out bound on a page is paid...

    This is not true.

You have even stated that links to my youtube videos are paid?

    Not working too good..

Don't be to hard on him. He did say it was in Beta mode. :)

I think it needs some fine tuning Brandon, but dont give up on it. It could be a good tool if you get it right.

    Hey there,

Does anybody have any suggestions on how he could make this better?

I think he is almost going to get a directory of paid links and store them in a database.

Then, when he encounters these external links, then he can determine if they are really paid links.

The hard part would be to come up with this directory of links :)

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

He could scrape the web and search for the words sponsored links. Any external links that he comes accross that are close to the words sponsored links can be classed as paid.

That is basically what Google does. :)

You should certainly remake the UI (the Windows style window), it looks like SPAM!

Does it show the links which are paid or I guess probably which are reciprocal? I must say that it still has to go through lot of experiments and testing till the product is fit to buy.

Great tool it would be if it passes through all kind of tests.

I found something interesting while checking your own site for the same...
I checked your forum and it says... 1 Paid link detected "mished.co.uk"
I checked your blog and it says... 1 Paid link detected "wordpress"

    lol

Your site itself is in the category of paid links! You will need to work hard to get it work properly.

Wow, you guys obviously have NOT watched the video explaining what this does exactly. It doesn't just detect any outbound link! What kind of crap tool would that be?

Finding those links on textlinkcetner exactly prove that it works perfectly. Let me explain because you've missed the point here completely.

It isn't detecting monetary exchange as we stated. It is detecting the characteristics that are typical of a paid link!!!!! It is physically impossible to detect monetary exchange of course, but not impossible to find the characteristics that are typical of a paid link. Or, not just a paid link, but a link that is nearly worthless for SEO purposes.

IT DOES NOT JUST DETECT OUTBOUNDS. You obviously only checked a domain where the outbounds simply don't count in google's eyes.

It found wordpress because that link obviously isn't counting for any kind of SEO value in google's eyes these days. Think about all of the reasons this would make sense if you were google. I'm not going to spill all the beans here...but use your head a little bit.

Both of those links are where? Footer. Why in the world would you want to count a link as a major "vote" for the linked to site...if it is in the footer? What are the chances that link is a quality true "vote". Very unlikely.

Both of those links were placed on the site why? NOT because textlinkcenter chose to give them a quality "vote" with a link. We chose not to give them a link...but were "forced" to because of scripting. Why would google want to count this as a "vote". They wouldn't.

Just a couple of the factors why google would not consider this link useful for SEO purposes.

Thus, the tool worked EXACTLY as it should have. Think of it detecting not only paid links...but links that are worthless.

Worthless links many times are paid...but many times they are not.

See where this is going guys? Hopefully you are getting a better grasp of what is going on here.

    Oh...two more things.

1 - It has nothing to do if the link is reciprocal or not. Reciprocal links are of course basically worthless, but this is not a factor here.

2 - Google DOES NOT LOOK FOR THE WORDS "SPONSORED" OR "ADVERTISER" ETC. There is a much better way to detect paid or shitty links than to look for this and Matt Cutts even addresses this in his blog!!!!!!! Ahhhhhh. You guys c'mon. Watch the video, it explains all of this in detail so you can understand what is going on here.
