There's also lightbulb ideas. Suckered.Us took me reading one article and 15 minutes of thought on the concept and six months coding to get the proper beta with the internal secrets to success. I've had ideas I spent 3 months thinking up that failed miserably.(Mostly because I underestimated the costs of a non viral launch) It depends on the creativity of the person devising the idea as well.. The key to anything BIG is for it to be unique , viral, and something no one's ever seen before but often thought would be very cool!.
Unique is fine but it also has to be interesting to a really huge audience (rather than a specific group) like MYspace lol
5k + network of .coms + marketing = 20x profit in one year. $6000 in 5 years - $1000 profit from savings or $100,000 selling your empire of sites that earns a total $10,000 a month.... Yeah, go ahead and put it in the bank. That's the safe thing to do.
Lol you're hugely simplifying things here. You've obviously never done this, so why give this advice? If it was so simple everyone would be doing it...
6.99 per domain ... = 715 domains on a 1 year reg.. now the trick would be to develop them simple unique and informative on 715 different keywords .. get a bulk se submitter, get your google ads up ... since you're unique content would be unique you'd rank decently high.. if you earned 1.00 a day from each in 3 months you'd be making 715.00 per day afterwards.. of course this is just a possible scenario
Yes, and the other one is have a lot of sites that are sandboxed or on page 500 in google, completely worthless and not even worth renewing the domain in a year.
Yep definately.. It's hard to say which is the best route for you to take your 5k from any of us. These are all viable options / scenarios though.
Hire some developer, create own PHP script for directories, blogs or myspace clone. Then make good promotion for this script, gain good traffic and you will gain free backlink from every installation of this script. You will gain strong website with a lot of backlinks and huge traffic, you only have to monetize it. It is my advice. I am not sure if it is only for one year, it looks on longer investition to future.
Just stick it in your savings account at the bank for about 1% return and watch inflation eat it up over time. Ok, just kidding - this is what you should NOT do The ideas others have come up with seem pretty reasonable.
Possibly However, I'd stay away from turnkey sites and myspace clone sites since they're quite hard to make a huge profit off these niches.
Put it in a high earning mutual fund. Go with one thats been earning 10 - 11% steadily over the last 2 years atleast, not one thats earning 15% for last 2 months, as it might break.
