What do you count as a "crash"? How many times have driver not worked or programs not been compatible? What do you use your computer for, apart from admiring your expensive eye-candy?
I am not lying when I tell you not a single crash, compatibility problem or so on. If a driver does not work Microsoft downloads the new one or sends me to the site. I am running programs on Vista that were not supposed to work on 89, 2000 worse XP. My computer has never frozen. The only problem I have had is that sometimes Adobe Flash fails to work and once in a while it will cause a little glitch on IE. Nothing else.
No it does, that is complete rubbish, at least in the way you phrased it. And so am I on XP. Again, you're talking rubbish. XP apps are bound to be more compatible that Vista ones. Exactly, you have missed the point. What I am asking is how many errors of any kind whatsoever have you received. Comparing on crashes I think Xp and Vista, as a clean install, are about even.
That is not a crash. That is a problem with a webpage. Microsoft can not help it that every webpage does not crash or cause Internet Explorer to freeze.
I think its a good idea microsoft is ending licences for XP. It will get software makers off their ass and start making their programs work with vista properly. I my self use xp 64 bit version and only have one program that is truly 64 bit, everything else is 32 bit. Why? Because software developers can get away with just creating 32 bit versions. Its time for change. Bring it on microsoft.
Not they can't, but they should be able to prevent their new OS freezing up more than their old one. I didn't ask how many times the entire system bricked, but rather how many pesky errors and incompatibilities you have. Also, FYI, I don't use Internet Explorer. No it's not, and it won't make them do so. The businesses and a lot of consumers will continue using XP. Because it works and they don't need to make them 64bit Yup, your ex-users no longer care and those who run Vista will lap it all up.
I had the same problem with FF. FF kept giving me Flash errors. Especially on sites like Myspace and so on. Incompatibilities in programs have all been fixed. Drivers work perfectly and hardware is perfect. I pretty much agree with everything Freespace said. It means its time to move forward. Its almost been a year since Vista has been released and you think MICROSOFT should still go ahead and offer support indefinitely?
I've never had them on XP but I can't say anything about Vista because I don't use Myspace. Not all programs are compatible, so that's a downright lie. Sure, you use only professional software such as photoshop then of course it will be compatible. That's not he case with all software. Of course the hardware works perfectly, it's not Microsoft! Yes, if people keep buying then they should keep selling.
It doesn't matter to me if MS stop its support for XP. Who visit MS site anyways? I never in my entire cyberspace life visited microsoft's support site... What they offer is easy to use OS why would you need an online support?
When I was using Fire Fox it was on XP. I had to because the beta of IE7 was very buggy and would keep freezing up. Now that I am on Vista I only use FF when I return to XP which is once in a while.
