I have been keeping an eye on some dropped domains because I had words with the owners and guarantees that the PR won't drop because they are dropped domains. Here are two that look like they just changed today: http://www.itxcellence.com/ from a PR6 to a PR5 http://www.natureexhibit.com/ from a PR4 to a PR4 No big surprise to me but these are the only two changes so far out of 60+ sites I am watching, maybe the toolbar update is happening?
4 of jeffs sites dropped to a 5, aerospect, idk, DM, sleek all dropped to 4 from 5 bigweblinks also dropped to 6 as reported by john.
Many directories lost their PR from the previous. I haven't heard any that actually gained PR. Did the PR update just started or ?
http://www.itxcellence.com/ PR6 > PR5 http://www.idk.in/ PR5 > PR4 http://www.bigweblinks.com/ PR7 > PR6 http://www.allthelook.com/ PR5 > PR4 http://www.aerospect.com/ PR5 > PR4 http://www.kwikgoblin.com/ PR6 > PR5 http://www.apahcinc.org/ PR6 > PR5 http://www.sevenseek.com/ PR6 > PR5 http://directory.v7n.com/ PR6 > PR5 http://www.danielmillions.com/ PR5 > PR4 http://www.linksjuice.com PR6 > PR5 http://www.leadingdir.com/ PR5 > PR4 http://www.linksfactory.net/ PR6 > PR5 http://www.sleekdirectory.com/ PR5 > PR4 These are the changes i found till now for major directories. Mine have no update yet, so not included in it.
The downtrend of PR value is not for only directories, several other sites (on different topics) e.g. www.StatCounter.com is now PR8 are victims for the same happening. Most of sites/directories showing -1 change in PR value, so it seems something very periodically and in fixed pattern. I have not seen +1 change in the PR value of any site/directory yet....
Get lot of info regarding recent PR updating. I was afraid to see my directory Allthelook got PR4 from 5. But, now I understand, not me, many guys are losing it. Still I am not sure about Google latest policy regarding PR.
A couple of updates ago, around 8 months many folks seemed to think it got easier to get PR4 and above, perhaps this was just a rollback of sorts. When more sites are updated I guess we will have a bigger picture.
It is too soon to get your panties in a twist about this since not any pages I have noticed have gone up. I have to agree wit you jg123.
PR is nothing but a algorithim only based on no of links in actual terms as it does not indicate the quality of site anyway. A clearer picture regarding PR will only emerge after the update is over.
no activities on my directories! Hope it gets some PR after all! but then i fear for my non-directory sites, hope their PR don't drop! Google's algo is probably going to get tougher on the PR front
