I have just bought 2 domains today with Netfirms and would like to launch them with the idea that I may use them for Affiliates. The $4.95 includes basic hosting.

Question 1. Will basic hosting allow me to enter the HTML code for the Affiliate ?

    2. How do I make the www. go live without the Netfirms Starter CD ? is there another way to lauch it as a basic site.

Thankyou in advance for any help you can offer me.

    Q1) yes

Q2) you don't need a CD to get a domain to go live.

You have to get the nameservers from your hosting company and set them in the domain control panel. You then upload your site files to your public_html folder on your web hosting. That should get everything working.

You don't seem too sure of the simple things though. Are you sure you know what you are doing?

I can log into the control panel and from here I think I go to SITE TOOLS and the FILE MANAGER but then I am stuck as to what to do next. If I can just get past these next few stages I might be OK.

The best way to upload files to your hosting is through an ftp program. I use smart ftp, which is free.

If you are trying to do something with the domain you will need to log in to your domain control panel, which should be on a different site to your hosting.
