Should I redirect to non trailing slash? If so how?

My site has the trailing slash "/" on it so when people type
in www. mysite.com it comes up www. mysite.com/
Should I try to redirect from www. mysite.com/ to www. mysite.com
The reason I ask is 90% of my backlinks point to www. mysite.com

    Thanks in advance :)

Your server adds the trailing slash for the home page address, so do not try to redirect it to a version without it. Either version works the same for your home page address with search engines.

Theoretically, your home page will display slightly faster if you use the slash, because that tells the server to use the default home page script. But everything is so fast today that you probably won't see a difference.

Just make sure that you standadize the links either with a www subdomain or without it. They are not interchangeable and can sometimes cause problems with search engines. It looks like you have already standardized using the www. :D
