I get a bit confused at times, I know I want links (generally) that " pass the juice", if google ever gets around to a PR update. I'm also interested in other links with a no follow, with anchor text just for sort of SERPS more than any PR. So how can you tell if a link has a no follow attached? Cheers
Specifically in the rel attribute of the anchor tag. For example [a href="http://www(dot)whatever(dot)com" rel="nofollow"]Whatever[/a] and [a href="http://www(dot)whatever(dot)com" rel="external nofollow"]Whatever[/a] Just replace the brackets with angled brackets and the (dot)'s with actual .'s to get the picture. Hope that helps.
The SEO for firefox plugin provided by seobook.com will highlight the no-follow links on a page without you having to look at the source code. backlinkwatch.com is a pretty good tool which will analyse the backlinks for a site and highlights those which are no-follow. Hope these tools help.
That looks like a pretty useful tool. However, it doesn't seem to be working at the moment unfortunately. T
SEObook highlights all no-follow links in red, very useful. Sometimes it stalls and you need to turn it on and off however. The most assured way of knowing is to look at the source code of the link and see if it has the attribute rel="nofollow"; as said previously.
iwebtools visual PR rank checker also helps a lot in getting quick stats. Visual PageRank Select "nofollow" option before checking
If you want to get your site listed in a directory. Go to the page where your site will be listed. View the source of the page and search for NOFOLLOW tag. If you find it in HEAD part or just besides the HREF tag it means that the link juice is not going to be passed by having link on that page. I hope this makes sense.
Just to add all the above posts, nofollow actually only works for google. Yahoo, msn, and others still count the links as your backlinks
I'm positive. nofollow, just like PR, is a product of Google. Why don't you try yourself? http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/
Just download the SearchStatus extension for Firefox. It will highlight all no-follow links on every page instantly.
Very simple: Check the href of your link or the link to the page where the external links are placed. Check the site's robots.txt
the easiest way is this If you are using firefox right click on a link and then goto properties. it will then say either ' new window ' or no follow. try it out on both follow and no follow links you will see that it works
