what the hell??? Transfer was denied, apparently because I have private registration with them and I need to cancel that first. That means my private info will be exposed for 5 days, as long as transfer lasts. This is crazy.

    They have awesome tech support

Of course, before you need them ! When you need them, you will get that sweet emails with "in 24 hours"

If i think myself, the name for them is right Go Daddy BUT GOOOO ! (i dont wanna say where)

I think that is with every registrar. Isn't?

Anyways, Moniker.com is quite a good alternative. They are also running a $6.95 special transfer offer.

Unfortunately that's a price to pay for using a privacy service. I've seen that
    happen with various registrars.

I use Moniker and Namecheap, personally. While Moniker has strict processes
for transferring out from them, those same measures help users keep domain
names from being hijacked or so.

Just curious: what happened that finally motivated you to move out?

Yes I agree, they are a nightmare when you run in trouble, it's not the first time I hear this. For all the luck I never worked with them.

I don't want to add any self promotion, if you wish contact me, I might be able do offer you a special solution with features you won't find on my site.

Well it just happened to me - problem in their system and they try to make like it was my fault. I am going to launch a blog about godaddy "issues", you are welcome to post your experiences as well :)

I recently transferred a domain to Moniker. I have to say I'm pretty pleased with them. They have a nice monetization system for parked domains that is working out well.

recently i've also been reading bad comments about go daddy. and i think its better to find inferior hosting companies than the big ones.

Really, that is pretty bad. I would certainly write a letter to them and ask for them to let you tranfer as this is not on.

I'm using Mydomain.com lately, they have a great fast interface and advance domain tools. I have a few names at Godaddy & Namecheap but Mydomain works well for bulk managment of 700+ names I have in portfolio. You can also transfer there for only $5 using coupon found in my sig link.

The best thing you can do is buy domains from domain registras and buy hosting from hosting providers, not registrars. And of course don't buy domains from hosting providers :)

just to let you know, godaddy refunded most of the money they took from me, have only very little left to get back, will not even bother for it.
But no applogy and not even a kind word or some kind of credit. My dedicated server was down for 18 hours due to their mistakes and I lost some money and custumer trust, but they don't really care I guess.
