Strange Referer to one of my directories

    I clicked on one of my referersin awstats and it was quite strange, never heard of this type of URL before. I only got 4 from this referer but it seems kind of strange, any ideas on how it happened? www.example.com

    funny thing I was going to submit a thread as well about this, Ive gotten it says for Month of September 127 referrals from www.example.com

    i think some submission software!
    the referer field can be filled up with fsockopen and cURL in PHP!

    Its fake. Apparently even though penalised in google, i got 200 google hits for "directory". Analytics does not share this delight.

    same going on here as well .... even for some strange words that have nothing to do with my directory ....
