You should start an auction with the minimum price you think you will get. You may get and offer above your expectations. It's not a mandatory to sell it. You can just see what to expect.

I am trying to buy an established website which is shuuting down but the owner says he cannot transfer the website & its contects to me since there are many fulfillment companies linked to it.

I need advice as to how this can be overcome without effecting the websites page ranks, links, pages indexed etc.


I will appreciate a detailed reply from an experienced person since this is my first ever venture into website buying.

It depends on what types of fullfillment companies are linked to it. Some may not be able to be transferred as he said, but others might be able to.

Some connections that cannot be transferred make the site useless so you might want to explain in detail what the connections are.

@G-hamsteR: You can "push" the domain to the buyer. Most of the registrars (GoDaddy, Namecheap etc.) have this function for free. About the content, you can download all of it via FTP or file manager, zip it and send it. The buyer should upload it to his hosting account and host the domain with it.

This is the maximum amount of money the seller expects to get.
Potential start to bid in the auction from the "starting bid". If someone really wants the thing that is for sale, he can offer the BIN to the seller, and get it immediately, without need to compete with the other bidders.

 

Go to the BST Forums and list under the domains section at a price you are willign to set (fixed priced auction) or opend up bids at a certain price able let members bid for the opportunity to purchase your domain.
