    What category?

And does it actually offer something original that's not already in that category? At a glance, all the things available are from other sites, in a way, making your page duplicate and therefor unneeded. If you are offering something special, you may wish to make that a bit easier to notice. Not only for the Editor, but for the end user.

There is no way to determine how long a review can take. You will also not be informed of acceptance or rejection.

But in glancing at your site which claims to be freeware, it aint. Many items, including the "freeware antivirus" costs.

LMAO! You do realize there are sites still awaiting review from the 90's. DMOZ is on its last leg. Forget about ever being listed there....unless you have a couple hundred in your paypal account.

yea I got a website listed in DMOZ a couple years back. It took 8 months from submission to listing! Also, I think a listing in DMOZ is way over rated..

Do you realize that, that is impossible? With the crash from last year there are only sites sitting from the last few months. That first part, really gives credence to you last part about needing a payment. It's obvious you are clueless!

I mean, even the ScriptLance average listing price is $50 ;)

Generally I'd ask what category, but from looking your site is not even close to being ready for submission. Try again when you no longer have blank/empty categories.

Come on...you are not even listing DMOZ *sigh*

Looking at that directory site - I can guess that it will never be listed.

In general terms it's like me saying I asked the cute girl at the bar if she'd go out with me and she hasn't said "yes" yet... why?

    Any number of possible reasons...
    • She might later but hasn't yet.
    • She has many better offers to consider.
    • She wants someone that looks more like George Clooney or just a LOT less like me.
    • She noticed I have on a wedding ring.
Bottom line, asking her out isn't a guarantee she'll say yes. One thing is likely... if she doesn't say yes and I ask her every day... she'll probably get a restraining order.

[Not that this could REALLY happen... I look exactly like George Clooney] :)

You know, I keep reading this site or that claiming they take their information on your site from DMOZ. What good is it if they don't get around to adding sites? The biggest of these is of course Alexa. Granted I am no where near ready to even be noticed on there, but I do plan on getting there.

So being my site is an original content news site is it going to mean thay say, "well, we already have some news sites"... ? If so that is extremly frustrating.

Yes, news is pretty much covered under the Topix listings. Though, when you feel like you are ready it only takes a moment to submit, so go on try it...all the cool kids are submitting ;)

Part of the problem with DMOZ is the lack of editors. A lot of categories don't have any and just languish until someone takes on the responsibility. I have been DMOZ editor before and, if a site was relevant, I would set it up immediately. In fact, for my category, I would go looking for appropriate sites.

So it could be a factor of nobody is there to approve, or the site really doesn't fit the criteria for the category submitted.

And if your doing too good of a job at searching and adding new websites they remove you and previously well maintained categories fall into disrepair...

I must have screwed up already done deal of one of those scriptlance editors. :p

So is scriptlance really one of the only ways to actually get into dmoz?
