For those of you that would prefer that AuctionAds pay on a per click basis there is a new money making opportunity available. It´s called WidgetBucks and it just launched. For starters they are accepting every site, and they are giving a $25 sign-up bonus! Signing up takes about 15 seconds, all you need to do is supply your email and password. Next all you have to do is confirm your email and you just earned yourself $25. The big advantage WidgetBucks will have over other programs of this type is that they will pay per click instead of per “actionâ€, like is the case with AuctionAds. The other thing I noticed is that the ads are rather appealing and should gather some clicks. WidgetBucks will be selling clicks to companies like Shopping.com (shopping comparison site), ebay, Amazon, and Best Buy (probably the biggest electronics retailer in the US), so that they can advertise their products. They will then pay us a percentage of that amount to drive traffic their way. On a side note, sites like WidgetBucks could start popping up since Google, thru their so called “smart pricing†is making clicks very expensive for shopping comparison sites like Shopping.com. The reason buying is that they buy clicks from Google, for say 10 cents, and then sell those clicks to retailers for say 20 or 25 cents, and Google is taking a negative stance towards keyword arbitrage type sites. The difference is that shopping comparison sites send very targeted traffic. But getting back to WidgetBucks, the ads are available in the usual sizes, and in several dozens of colors, but not 100% customizable. But I figure they will take care of this very soon. Together with the $25 sign-up bonus, they also have an affiliate program where they will pay you $5 as soon as someone you refer earns $25. That should not be too hard. For starters I would recommend you SIGN-UP with WidgetBucks, because as word spreads they could discontinue the $25 bonus, or tighten acceptance standards. After that you just have to do some testing, especially to see what kind of click rates and revenue per click you get. http://www.widgetbucks.com/
The ad is not as targeted as those from shopping.com, shopzilla and chitika if your niche is not in 1 of their 13 categories. But the design of the ad is quite eye catching. I am still waiting for the earning stat coming out to see how good or bad this program is.
As of today it has dropped to less than $.50 CPM. That puts it in the toilet category. Check the end of this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=509997&highlight=cpm&page=14
