hamas is not just a terrorist group of people who just want to kick israel's butt, hamas has a political wing and also an associated charity that is reponsible for building many of the schools and hospitals in an area that is impoverished, hence their popularity with the ordinary people. in northern ireland there is an important parallel, the IRA a terrorist group had a political wing SinnFein that is now, after the peace process, a recognised political party in northern ireland. the palestinian people were not voting for terrorism but for local amenities that are sadly lacking in that part of the world. in fact ordinary palestinians actually came out and protested about the ongoing feud between hamas fighters and alfatah fighters, because they want peace just as much as the next person.

i have never and will never condone killing of any kind, i am as against hamas and hezbollah as i am against the israeli death squads, but you have to see both sides of this, for if you can't then what chance have those people living in the thick of it in israel.

suicide bombing is a heinous act, but the reason why israelis don't use this form of violence is because they are well armed with state of the art weaponry which is ten times as effective as suicide bombs. in the 1940's when the jews fought the brits for supremacy in israel, jewish terrorists would kill a british officer, then disembowel him, stuff his insides with explosives, then leave him for his fellow soldiers to discover at which point they would detonate the explosives. not exactly suicide bombing, but i am sure you get my point. both sides are at fault here, but some of you are too blinkered to see it.

Had you been born a Palestinian and been living under a brutal occupation, are you going to tell me that you would not try to fight by any means necessary???? I am sure that the palestinians would not consider being suicide bombers if they had the weapons to fight the Israelis.
