6 Tips to Earn More Money with Google Adsense

Are you one of those millions of people who are struggling just to earn a few dollars on google adsense? Do you want to know some simple yet effective tips on how you can maximize your adsense earnings? Then read on. Below are 7 tips which will explode your adsense earnings instantly.

    1. Blending the Ads with Your Website

This is probably the most important tip when putting your google ads on your website. You must blend in your ads with your website. So if you have a white background for your website, use white background for your google ads. You need to steer away from using the standard formats, as they result in a low number of clicks. If you do that, you will find your click through rate jump instantly. This is due to the fact that you will make the visitors think that your ads are part of your content, and don't seem to look like ads, so they will most likely to click on the ads.

    2. Use the full quota of your ads.

It's as simple as that. Use the full quota of your ads. Since Google only allows you to have a maximum of 3 ads on any one page, then use 3 ads on any one page. Put as much ads on your website as you can, without breaking Google's terms.

    3. Put your ads near the top of the page

Put your ads near the top of the page. Why? So that when people come to your site, they will be able to see the ads. Not all of them will be willing to scroll down to the bottom of the page. Also, put your ads on the left hand side, rather on the right hand side, because we read from left to right. Simple? Yes, it's that simple.

    4. Use Text Links Ads, they generate a higher income.

I don't know why, but somehow, text links ads, especially the horizontal ones, generate a very high click through rate and revenue. I have experimented on many sites and text links ads usually perform very well.

    5. Read Newspapers.

Newspaper? You may be wondering how newspapers relate to adsense, but in fact, newspaper is the best place to learn ad positioning. Just by copying the ad positioning of newspaper, you will realise that your adsense revenue will dramatically jump.

    6. My Adsense Revenue almost tripled when I applied this technique

What is it? It is very simple. Put pictures on top or very close to your ads. By doing that, you will attract more attention and people will be more likely to click on your ads. However, please do be careful that you don't get random pictures off Google, as many pictures are protected by copyright laws. Please use only pictures that are royalty free.

While many people may tell you that they knew these tips long time ago, you will realize that only 0.1% of the people apply these techniques to their website.

I feel that with blending you dont necessarily blend it perfectly in, otherwise people wont notice it at all. It's really dependent on the site, my CTR dropped to 20% of previous levels when I blended it in perfectly.

I changed design and blended it now, but it's still pretty obvious where the ads are and CTR is back to normal.

also for #2, you may not necessarily want to do this as you may get clicks on low paying ads, it's experimental.

    #6 is illegal :p

Stupid webmasters, they're either making so much money from other programs that they don't care about their AdSense revenue, or...

Thats pretty strange. Why would google prohibit that. I mean, if an element of your template is considered an "image", ex. your navi bar, then why cant a image of something else be placed near it?

Some people are using images ads + text link ad beside each other.

As far as I know this isn't against the TOS.

I don't think they enforce the image / ad proximity thing that hard. I have many sites with image(s) close to ads and haven't heard a peep.

Then again, it does make sense on the pages and isn't misleading in any way.

It varies, I have contacted Google about the images next to ads and they approved mine because it was obvious that the images were an integral part of the site and not, like MANY others, just to draw attention to the ads.

#1...I don't do that. I want the person to know it's an ad. Why? Because then he is only going to click with "ad" in mind, and conversion could be better. Ads that are too well blended run the risk of being flagged by google as deceptive which leads to other problems.

#2...I usually use only one ad-block. Why? Because I don't want the site to have ads plastered all over it. People are getting smart enough to see that sites thus plastered are only there for adsense ads and may be less likely to stick around.

#3...Sometimes. I put the ad where it fits the best and where it is the least intrusive to the viewer.

#4...Always. Image ads look too spammy for me, anyway.

#5...Depends upon your content as to how you can lay it out.

#6...Already covered, but I have images next to some of my ads just by way of how the site is laid out. Google has no problem with them. But, then, they are meaningful images, not glittery doo-dads that just highlight the ads or draw the viewer's eyes to the ad.

I'm guessing because people are less blind to them and will still click them, whereas the image ads are too recognized or avoided. Thus, it's not that they pay more, but that by a higher CTR you MAY earn more with them.

My advice... more ads is not always better... We found we made more and had higher EPC when we reduced our ads per page.

It is my opinion that better performing ads pay better.

Text links DO NOT generate more income. They in fact, generate less, because it takes 2 clicks, one to the link, and another to the Google generated link page. Most people don't want to do that.

I just reread the original...yes, you are right, I use text links maybe at the bottom of a page...sometimes. Text Ads vs Image Ads (which is what I misread this as) is possibly a valid one.

Sometimes blending your ads with the color of your background doesnt quite work well with your visitors, as they may not notice them. For example, if your background is black, use a white colored ad, as your visitors would be attracted to them!
I applied this knowlege to one of my sites, and i get about 10 clicks per 44 visitors!
