Blogger stinks...I can't find the area to increase the body post pixels..but I'll work that out. I moved the 160x600 closer to the top and blended the colors...any comments on that placement and look.
Well so far today my eCPM is at $9.19..much better than yesterday. I've got a couple of clicks for $1.13...I changed colors and ad layout, so I'm not sure what the increase is due to, but I'll take it.
You should sell banner spots for a fixed price or do some affiliate marketing instead, if you want to make some more money.
if you are talking about any of the signature link sites then you have virtually zero traffic all together hence before expecting any real revenue you need to create real content that attracts masses of generic site visitors. before talking about someone screwing you you may first be willing to kick your own a.. much stronger to produce more truly useful quality content that attracts generic visitors by means of high SERPS.
I know my golf sites are very visitor specific...but that's what I like, so it's what I do. My golf blog has only been up a month and has been getting 400+ uniques a day...and it does have "real" content...if you're looking for golf related topics. That's the site which is getting the most traffic for me right now..the other two I'm just starting to get going as well...but haven't put the time in yet. All are works in progress, I know this...but I wasn't expecting that low of eCPM's to start. Maybe I'm just expecting too much too soon.
thats actually almost 12 cents per click and is a lot higher than many people get. I run a big website based in Thailand with over 60,000 PIMPS a day. I have a CTR ove around 3% so thats pretty normal. I can assure you, I wish I was getting 12 cents per click, I'd be joining the "big boys" if I was.
I am wondering how seasonal is the niche Golf? Is fall the time when people think about golfing? I am guessing that this is a time when interest slows down a bit. So some thoughts: Think of what golfers are interested in the slow times, for example, Golfing vacations in warmer climes. That is, think outside of the box. And use this time to beef up your sites with more content in preparation for the peak season for your niche. Work on new sites that will do well in the winter, so that you are diversified. I do not now if this is the type of commentary you seek, but it is what I am struggling with in some of my seasonal sites...
You should definitely experiment with affiliates - if you can find something that converts well, you'll do great - golf equipment tends to be expensive. See if you can find some 'how to improve your game' Ebooks and test them too. Testing is a pain, but if you end up better off than you started...happy days.
Your blaming google for what the advertisers bid to display their ads??? use http://www.adsblacklist.com/ to block some mfa ads.
So why are you complaining? 47/4=11.75cents per click. I would seriously break the $1500 per month if I got that... I get something like: 70 clicks for 90 cents on some of my channels. or like 11 clicks for 7 cents (one of my channels today) My average a day is like 10 dollars on 350 clicks. Crap earnings.
I'm not really complaining more than I'm just trying to figure out if that low number is normal or if I'm getting the shaft... The past few days have been better...I've only managed 5-10 clicks on 400 views, but my $$ has been in the 3-5 bucks a day range...I know...I won't spend it all in one place.
