I have contacted Paypal through the contact us page. I asked them to downgrade my account. Am I supposed to receive an e-mail from them after they downgrade my account?

Why would you want to downgrade your account?

    Less charges I guess

Normally you should receive an Email.
Try contacting them if don't receive anything.

I had a same question. we are supposed to receive an email because they said it when I sent and "contact form".

I wanted to upgrade too because I thought it would be better. But premier account fees are more. They cut some constant fee plus some ratio from the money you receive.

But it were only per 5 payments when I had basic account. I asked the same question here, and people said I should contact to paypal. I filled the form on paypal site some days ago but no one answered yet. I will wait some days more, if no response, I will try to send an email

What some people do is close their account and open a new one (personal account). However, this is hard if you have reputation points on paypal..

Well, you should receive an email from Paypal to ask you if you want to confirm the downgrade. You should get that within a few days.

Well, the personal paypal account is not supposed to be used for receiving money for commercial purposes and to encourage people to spend, they have no fees for the personal account.

I upgraded my personal account to a premiere one, then I upgraded it again to a business one. I didnt realise that the bank account has to change too - you need a bank acc in the business name, they wont allow withdrawals to the bank account you already had on file. I already had another paypal account going to the only business bank account so I needed to downgrade my personal one. I had to call paypal to do it, and they done it over the phone. There was no option to downgrade from a business account online.

Yup, the Premier and the Business accounts are pretty much identical except that the Business account must be in the registered business name.

No there is no such things called less charge for downgrading account.
Personal account cuts no paypal fees and premier and business account charges same paypal fees !
So there is no facility that you will get after downgrading your account

Paypal allows you to open 2 account : personal and premier/business and so you can bypass the fees by receiving non CC funded payments on personal account.

You will need to verify your paypal account no matter it be a personal, premier or business account. Verification does not increase any fees. In fact, Paypal expect you to verify your account so as to be sure you are who you say you are. It is for your protection and for the protection of the people you deal with through Paypal.

An unverified account is one which as the name suggest is unverified, meaning there is no way to proof that you are real, intending to fraud or cheat anyone. No one knows who you are. A Verified account is one in which Paypal is ensured that you are for real through the verification process which requires them to trust your bank's approval of you.

A verified account allows you to withdraw more money and gives your customers and people you buy from the confidence that they are dealing with a real person.

    Thanks for replying, guys!

I was able to downgrade my account. Paypal responded to after 2 days. The representative told me that there were lots of e-mails that's why they were not able to downgrade my account immediately.
