Mine is a brand new one, quad core....mabey I have to much stuff on it but even with all that same stuff on xp, xp ran faster
That is impossable. you must be lieing. All the new mechines, with qouds, good ram, and grapthics are good.. And I know this for a fact as my friend has: 2GB of ram x2 2.4ghz amd 64bit altherlon And it runs perfect... I have 1.25GB of ram 1x 2.4ghz amd and it runs perfect...
When I first got vista and this computer it was amazingly fast but as soon as i put all the programs I had on with xp it slowed down. Truly speed isnt even my main problem it is a result of other problems with my computer such as constant blue screening for one reason or another...
How is that impossible? If you have the same set-up on both XP and Vista the Vista machine will run slower in most cases.
vista killed another one of my friends machines..he tried to run it with a Pentium D 1 GB RAM unit (Home Premium)..the requirements to use Vista are ridiculous
thats why I dumped Windows 6 months ago and went with Mac OS X. You won't be disappointed and i have VMware fusion so I can run Windows XP on my Mac at the same time I am running OS X.
500 dollar systems run vista excelent. I do not know what type of computers you are getting in Europe. Maybe you should buy one made for the US and try and convert the power supply.
As I have already stated in an earlier post, I buy Dell Latitude Laptops. I'm sure a flimsy 500 dollar laptop will run Vista fine but that's not what i'm buying. It's no use to me to have a 17 inch brick that breaks every time you knock it. Dell is a US company, so all buying them from the US would do is give me another adapter to carry around. You want tacky consumer laptops then, sure, you may just get them them for $500 dollars (though it would be a very poor one, £500 or $1000 would be a better price) ; You want decent quality business laptops then that's just not going to cut it, you're looking in the £1500-2000 range (about $3000-$4000)
yeah and im sure even those units have trouble running vista..compatibility issues..decreases in speed...etc etc
guess what your right...After its started my vista computer on terms of spped runs ok...but starting it up I am waiting 5-10min and I have a fast computer
All i can say is to those who have bought VISTA are ust plain retarded. Microsoft have off course released it for you lot to find bugs and report them. Thats how it has always been. Takes a good year to become reliable which is why i will use XP until then.
Incompatability, drivers don't seem to reliably work and some programs had trouble running. Secondly, it seems surprisingly bogged down for not particularly demanding tasks. This is why I don't like Vista and why my other laptop (a bigger, higher spec one) is staying on XP. I also realise what would have happened if I didn't have a reasonably high-end machine.
