Prostitution is respectable profession?

I dont know how it is like in not civilized countries but I all these more civilized ones, prostitutes are the most disrespected creatures simply worth compassion.

 

It is a respectable profession. In my country they even have their streets!, lol

 

I read an article in a newspaper today that the owner of a brothel complained to the local council about plans to build a church 2 doors down from it. This is the words used in the complaint "The church will bring the wrong type of people in the vicinity of our legitimate business".....LOL

 

The interesting thing is that based on what has come out of Washington, D.C. lately, I can't even imaging how business is done there. They are all good family men of course

 

I wouldn't say prostitution is respectable just like i wouldn't say working in burger king is respectable. They are jobs that people do usually because they have no other employment prospects.

But should people be allowed to do it? Of course they should.

I have nothing against hookers, but a lot of places in the UK have ladies kept against their will by Eastern European Mafia types.
It is a real problem in the UK.
These are real scary dudes. Drugs, people trafficing etc.
Legalisation would reduce this I believe.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It may be legal in some places but still not respectable. Just like fast food restaurants - legal but you aren't at the top of the respect ladder.

It's not exactly a job I would want my children to aspire to be. To me it's a "last option" kind of job.

 

Prostituation is not a respected job in any country in the world.
Consider this
Many are drug addicts.
Many are in poverty.
Many were abused/ self harm.
Many are just nutters.
Many are forced into it by crime.
Even the so called e.g students who do so I argue would fall mainly into the above.
You guys should throw away the "Pretty Woman " Julia Roberts DVD.

Take 100 8 year old girls or girls
Ask how many of them want to be a sex worker when they grow up.
A lot of train drivers and pilots but no sex workers.
Thus it happens due to circumstances not due to role models.

This is a stereotype. High end hookers, also known as escorts, are less likely to do drugs than street walkers. They are not forced into it, they choose to do it because of the large profit margins.

Pretty girls in this business can pull down larger figures in a single year than most highly paid professionals. You may be right when you talk about $50 street walkers, but you can't lump prostitutes all in the same category. I saw an escort in Vegas, a hot blonde with a smoking body, that made $250,000 in one year.

There are street walkers, and then there are escorts. CEOs, entrepreneurs, celebrities, politicians, these guys hire the best escorts, and these ladies aren't cheap. Rich men only pay for the best, and no CEO or Celebrity would be caught dead with a street walker. Street walkers are for poor men, and escorts are for rich men. That is the primary difference. Escorts tend to be more attractive, more expensive, more educated, and more sexually skilled, thus their higher prices.

Depending on where you live in the U.S., an escort will generally start at a minimum of $200 per hour in the southern and midwestern states, and if you are living in a city like New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles, the starting cost for a escort is $300 per hour.

Porn Stars who also do side work as escorts start at $1,000 per hour minimum, though a few lesser known porn stars start at $400 through $700 per hour, but realistically, if you want to spend an hour with a well known Porn Star, you will need to spend about $1700 per hour.

The most expensive escorts, the ones that qualify as centerfold models, and who rarely do appointments, may charge you $100,000 for a session. This is not the norm, and most escorts, even the best, are no where near this price.

Needless to say, many of these women make enough in five years to retire, or pay their tuition at college. These are the smart ones, the ones that save their money.

The way I see it, a woman who becomes an escorts for two years, then uses her savings to pay her way through college is WAY smarter than a woman who is not an escort, but goes to college, puts herself in debt, and then has to spend 10 years paying offer her loans once she graduates.

The escort business is so lucrative that I'm even thinking of starting my own agency.........because this is the only industry in the world that doesn't have ups and downs, and even if the U.S. economy and stock market crash, this industry still flourishes. The way I see it, you can't go wrong with sex.

At least half of you in this thread voted that Prostitution is not a respectable profession, but one thing you guys can't deny is that this industry brings in some serious figures..........

right now I´m in Costa Rica where prostitution is legal, but pimping is illegal. A lot of girls are choosing to make 100 bucks in an hour rather than working for 10 bucks a week. Yeah, in San Jose that is how much they get. They have the Hotel del Rey and I know ppl who used to work there. It´s a hotel where they will set up clients with pictures of fish they supposedly caught on a fishing trip so they have an excuse for their wives why they had to take a vacation on their own.

I´m not for prostitution, but it will always exist no matter what the laws are. It may be better having it legal. But other than that my opinion is if you wanna be with a hooker, then do what you have to do and shut up about it. Nothing to be proud of, and not for me to judge what you do either.

That´s my attitude towards homosexuality as well. I cannot live your life for you, but if you want my blessing, then look at the man in the mirror and ask him if he´s proud of you and if that is what you´re meant to do and if that is the best that you can do.

If this thread is created to let others make you feel less guilty, then I really think you need to look at yourself and make a choice on your own.

No, I´m glad I don´t need to go with hookers. But I know people who do. And like I´ve said, there is nothing I can do to change them, but on the other hand I don´t really want to hear about it. If you manage to land a really hot chick without paying her, sure ... tell me all about it and give me some pointers on how to hook that up.
